Default Zidane deserves a birth-day gift!!

June 23, 2006 – the 34th birthday of the French football legend Zinedine Zidane.
This is also the day France faces Togo in their last group match in World Cup 2006. Zidane will miss this match due to yellow card suspension.

France needs to win against Togo. If Korea-Swiss match end in a draw, France must win their match with 2 goal margin. On the other hand, is Korea-Swiss match sees a winner, a simple win will be sufficient for France. If France fails to qualify for the 2nd round, this will be the end of Zidane-era.

Right now, France has their destiny on their own hand.
Zidane will be on the sideline on 23rd June, looking toward his team mates for another chance to play. The biggest birthday gift France can give Zinedine Zidane on Friday is allowing him to play at least one more football match.
Zidane deserves this birth-day gift!!

GO FRANCE !!

"Friday we’re playing France in Cologne. I’ll talk to the team now and get them ready for the next match. There are four or five members of the squad who haven’t played at all yet, and it’s time for them to get some experience at this level"-- Otto PFISTER, Togo Coach.

Apparently Togo will not field their best 11 and give exposure to their reserve players. So, may be Togo themselves wrapping the birth-day present for Zidane.

Henry will find a way to miss the net, Togo will lose but with 5 points it' may come down to Goal Differental and France at the moment is E. They better beat them 4-0 or a score like that.

All France need at this moment is a two-goal margin win (2-0 or 3-1).
No matter what happens to the other game, a two-goal margin win will ensure France's place in the second round.

Isn't it Korea-Swiss?

It's Korea vs. Switzerland. Japan is pretty much out of the world cup (they face Brazil in last match). A draw with the swiss will be bad for Korea because a 2+ win by France with Togo will eliminate them. My guess (and hope) is Korea will draw with Switzerland and France will win with Togo 1-0 and bow out of WC. Togo may not have lost today if the stupid referee gave the penalty they deserved (that wud make it 1-1). Switzerland was better but didn't dominate until late 2nd half.

ditto.
To the french supporter, Zizu was great, but passed his selling date. Do Franch deserve? They are the worst of the major teams in terms of performance. They are lucky that Ivory coast or ghana is not in their group. Otherwise they could have say goodbye

This is a public forum. Anyone can post their likes and dislikes as long it is not breaking the board rules. The posts you don't like, the best way to tackle is to ignore those. For your sake I will not post any negetive comments in this thread.

Who is Zidane? Why he is getting so much attention from both end? Looks like he is another 'Hillary Clintion" and "Ashraful" kind of polarizing character?

Tempertaure looks like high in both ends.....

Sounds interesting. Lets see which group wins.
