I think we will struggle very badly if we have to bat first at Lord's. Coming out to bat for the first time in a Test match at Lord's can be quite overwhelming for young cricketers. Also, our boys are going to be a little nervous first up and we could end up losing quite a few wickets quite early (remember our first World Cup match against NZ in 99?). However, if we get the bowl first, it gives our boys the chance to settle their nerves without effectively giving away the game in the first hour. Bowlers can always regroup even after a nervous start, batsmen can't. Same happened to Zimbabwe when they came on tour to England for the first time in 2000. Put in to bat in the first Test at Lord's, they were all out for 80 odd. And that team had players like Flower brothers, Campbell, Goodwin, Neil Johnson, Guy Whittal and Streak. It was just nerves more than anything else!

100-249, I think it's more likely to be 160-180

I will be happy if BD cross 200 when they bat. Heck, I will be happy if we can string together TWO decent partnerships consecutively. How many times has it happened? Invariably one good partnership is followed by brief one.

well the thing that happened in asia cup was that there was usually a good partnership and then within a short amount of time we loose 2-3 wickets and then again a partnership and then again a 2-3 wicket break down. we have to stop this.
