it will be interesting, if argentina can ever stand up in post maradona era. this time their group is even harder than 2002, but the +ve thing is not much pressure on them like in 2002 when they were rated favorites along with france. they have good players like massi, tevez but is almost unknown whereas all the pressure will be on brazil. england have a very good chance but like brazil they will have too much pressure on them. Go argentina!

After the WC the 39 people who voted here will so dissapointed. The cup will stay where it is now. Germany.

Very likely. Lets just look at Germany's record when the World Cup is held in Europe:

1998 : QF
1990: Winners
1982: Runners Up
1974: Winners
1966: Runners-Up
1958: ?
1954: Winners

Thats an exceptional record, and coupled with the fact that they are hosts, means I would favor them over any other team except maybe England and Brazil who i feel haev equally good chances.

I don't know the exact reason...but I always support Germany.

1958 - Brazil 2006- ?
1962 - Brazil 2002- Brazil
1966- England 1998-France ( European team winning for first time on home ground)
1970 - Brazil 1994- Brazil
1974-Germany 1990-Germany
1978-Arg. 1986-Arg
1982-Italy

If the above trend continues, Brazil winning in 1958 should mean that in 2006 the winner is
either 1)Brazil , 2) A nation winning for first time ever

However, i think this coincidence sequence will be upset by Germany and that they will win the Cup.

If not, then either England or Italy.
