Riyad was offered a match in NZ and then to retire from the field. But he refused saying he wants to push his luck to play for BD another two years, ie till T20I WC 2024!

While his fighting attitude should be appreciated, I think we now a have good set of middle order options (Afif, Sabbir, Miraz, Mosaddek, Yasir, Sohan) to unsettle him even from the ODI team. I don't think Tamim is a big fan of Riyad, but so far stuck with him for lack of a better option.
