One more batting performance like this, selectors and Sriram probably will be forced to eat their words and call back Riyad in the squad (they can change the squad till Oct 21). IMO, Nasum should be left out to accommodation another batter. Saifuddin and Shoriful should swap places as well, ie Saifuddin pushed out to WC standby list in place of Shoriful.

Allhamdullilah both games won.
A lot of Javed Omar Belims who used to run to take the wicket as a souvenir

Only good thing is Taskin isn’t in the team.

My XI for the 2nd match would be -
Soumya
Miraz
Litton
Afif
Yasir
Mosaddek
Sohan
Sabbir
Taskin
Hasan
Shoriful
There is no point carrying Nasum with the team, he simply doesn't add any value to the team outside Mirpur. Saifuddin should be axed as well - at his current pace, he will be murdered by any team.
It's hard to leave Musta out of the squad, but he no longer should be auto choice for the XI.
IMO, Soumya should be given a chance, with Sabbir shuffled down to late order. We will need a fourth pacer to bowl couple of overs during middle overs, and Soumya can do the job (thus no point carrying Saifuddin).

Riad maybe playing a run a ball innings these days, but that is better than 5 runs for 2-3 balls and then out.

If I remember correctly, when Shakib and Tamim still were playing for U/19, a visiting UAE team lost matches against our U/19 team. Those guys belong to a totally different level than our current sorry bunch. BTW, Shakib just blasted a quickfire fifty against likes of Holder and Mujeeb in CPL.

Can you imagine our ODI team without the big 4 ... Only Liton is worthy enough to be in the playing XL (and maybe Afif - still need to perform more).

Shakib took his team from bottom of the table to CPL Qualifier 1, definitely getting much better match practice than playing against a team of semi-professional expat players. While his bowling is always good, his batting was worrisome for some time. So, definitely glad to see two back to back good knocks from him in CPL.

From what we hear from Miraz, sounds like he and Sabbir are expected to play pinch hitting high risk short cameos. Litton is probably expected to play a longer and more conventional innings. Thus he's being sent after the initial assaults (or attempted assaults).

Given that ICC made pitches don't help pacers with seam, swing, or cutters, other teams mostly selected their genuine pacers (unless you're an exceptional swing bowler like Southee or Bhuvi) for WC. Sriram maybe trying different things in prep matches, but for actual WC matches, I don't think he will have much of an option other than to go with Taskin-Shoriful and one from Hasan and Ebadot.
We all know very well how ineffective Mustafiz is outside the subcontinent (though he will linger with the team due to his reputation). Saifuddin is prolly just a match or two away from being axed from the squad.
Interestingly, there are talks about handing Rishad his international debut in the next match, contrary to the assumption he's with the team only as a net bowler.

Taskin is still the same bowler who after a few good deliveries bowls short or presents free gifts. Whats funny is he still thinks he is extreme pace and can bounce good batsman out. Its his mind set that still makes him a rubbish bowler. He is also reaching an age where he will lose speed. I think investing in him is a bad choice. Probably should have been drafted to this "legends" tournament.
Mustafiz bowling has become mediocre on any track for sure. Much of this was after his surgery he was mainly under the good for nothing coach Walsh.
Saifuddin looks like a golly bowler and has absolutely no clue how to bowl. His immature celebrations are also pathetic especially when he does it when he got hammered. I think the likes of Soumya is slightly better than him and should be given a chance.
I also dont think the team has a conducive mentoring atmosphere. After bowling poorly Ebaddot instead of someone talking to him everyone was shouting and screaming at him.
To some guy who used to say this in the forum....WE ARE DOOMED

Shabbir is just rubbish. He cant seem to handle these UAE pace bowlers, how on earth will even see out the paces in the World Cup.

How can you have 2 pitch hitters as opener? What tactic is that? Why would you risk one batting position that have a settle player where there are lots of batting positions he could have done experiment with
