^^Curiously, Mithun got contract for all formats. His stock seems to be well up under Domingo.

Lacks technique. Always has and not sure if he will ever develop solid techniques.
Guess in the world of T20's, heavy bats and small boundaries, Maxwell's and Mithuns are prized assets.

Where do we get these coaches from? Hathu ruined Mominul favoring hacks like Sabbir and now Domingo will ruin Mosaddek by favoring hacks like Mithun.
Imagine if some coach favored a Fawad Alam over Babar Azam because he had a Test average under 30.

If someone pulled this **** on me, I'd bluntly tell him: Excuse me, but do you mind speaking in English?
What an arrogant git.
And stop calling him 'bhai' Tamim. You are not that great enough to be humble.

In this scenario I think it's ok to let him speak Hindi because he is the guest. But equally one should be cognizant of who the audience is and whether or not they will understand everything . The assumption that majority will understand would be ignorant.
Nice seeing time interviewing all these ppl and taking initiative .

Even if I live on a planet outnumbered with a ratio of 1: 1,000,000,000,000 I will still stand by my statement. Part of wisdom earned from life's harsh experiences is that just because majority believe in something or feel to be right does not maketh so.

More Bangladeshi's understand Hindi/Urdu (spoken only) compared to English. I cannot produce a well researched study in case you want proof. However if you live or lived in Bangladesh, you know I am right.

I am actually a big fan of Sabbir Rahman. I know I sound like a hypocrite but I would pick sabbir almost always in ODI's and T20's. It sucks being a fan

What does that have to do anything? I do not have to adjust myself to pacify others' needs. Whether we speak Hindi, Urdu, Xhosa is absolutely moot. You came to my house and you should possess the basic iota of courtesy to point out:
A. Please do not call me "bhai".
and, B. To respect hosts' language.
The arrogance to assume "everyone speaks Hindi/Urdu" and thus "I should carry merry on doing as I please"!
English is lingua franca.
I know MANY seasoned posters here who - if certain Bangladeshi player went to an Afrikaaner interview in South Africa and started speaking Bengali - would hold HIM accountable with statements like:
"Be grateful you were invited to such-and-such talk show. And it is courtesy and respect to gracefully speak in a language which majority of South Africans can understand."
Why are we always the one bending over backwards to please others?
The fact Tamim's performance will NEVER touch Virat's in this life form night or day gives the latter ZERO credence to disrespect him in his own podcast.
And those who are planning to come and write and say: "Really it is not a big deal"... Don't.
It IS a very big deal.

People will continue to voice contrarian opinion, and I will continue to be a jerk to voice out mine. You have as much breathing space and right on this sphere, as I do.

The economy believes in supply and demand. Not Lingua Franca. When Mustafiz played in IPL, he was not forced to speak in Lingua Franca, instead, Hyderabad afforded him an interpreter (who also happens to be Nafis Iqbal, brother of Tamim).
Bangladesh is not North Korea (although getting there), you are still free to watch what you please. If you have a problem with the guest insisting to speak at a tongue he favors than the problem is with you and not the guest.
If Tamim is calling Virat "Bhai" because he is older than Tamim, than I do not see any problem with that either. It is our culture to do that. I am an atheist, but I always give "salam" when I meet elders and say "khoda-hafez" as a way to bid goodbye. Both as a nod to our culture and not based on "Lingua Franca".
You can only make a case for "Disrespect" if you are actively trying to create something out of nothing.
I am sure Tamim did not feel disrespected, instead his follower increased multiple folds based on the brilliant work he has been doing with these interviews.

Tamim is 31, Virat is 31. If you don't do basic research before responding to me, I cannot take your rebuttal seriously.
And personally, I never have any issues addressing the "elders". I address anyone I want anyway I want the way I deem it fit apropos and pleases me. If anything, THEY should address me as "bhai" give me "salam" and say "khoda hafez".
Clearly if you have issues than it is your problem. There IS no "our culture". You CREATE a culture because you surrender your own self-respect and start giving away your rights to others to treat you anything like they fit.
Me? I don't have to deal with that. I kowtow to no one, answer to no one and I create my own standards and culture.
As I always believed...
ADDRESS OTHERS THE WAY YOU WISH TO BE ADDRESSED
I don't have to go out of my ways to please some beta-male "uncles" with overblown beta-male superiority complex.
And damn right I will create something out of nothing if I see there is something out of nothing to be created.
All humans have same status on this world. At least to my eyes. Just because Bangladeshi's repulsive culture have twisted, skewed version of adaab does not mean I shall subscribe to it.
To me that is entitlement where some beta cuck "seniors" feel they deserve some sort of respect just out of self-perceived notion of seniority based on nothing more than 2-digit ages justified by tradition and culture.
The nerve!!!!!!!!!!!
Ami karo baaper posha golam na.

Oh economy also believes in slavery. Doesn't mean I will prostitute my values and ideals for it.
And cut that crap about Mustafiz speaking Bengali. Mustafiz != Virat. Virat speaks perfect English fluently; whereas Mustafiz doesn't.
Don't try to fit a square peg in a round hole.
Then again I am probably talking to someone who will happily carry grocery bags for a bald-headed, receding hairline, double chinned out of shape "uncles" just because the beta cuck orders and somehow feels entitled.
To hammer Jordan Peterson again: "Harmless is not virtuous."

bhondamir ekta limit thaka uchit
amader ei "bhai bhai" mentality ta cringeworthy AF and needs to be abolished and taken care of... if we want to evolve and proceed to a more "shouvya shomaaj" habits and NOT treat "darowan", "drivers" "beggars" "rickshawalas" and of course "chotora" with "tumi" and "tui" based on status quo and socio-economic status and sanctimoniously like a prick assume they will addresss us otherwise just cuz of entitlement.... faizlami

LMAO!! As if suddenly that nullifies everything... BOOM! Congratulations, you have demolished my argument.
I will tell you this happened. Tamim Iqbal had ego issues and arrogance. But that was not the problem. Problem are the INSECURE, passive-aggressive, double-chinned, beta cuck, paunchy, DIMINUTIVE "uncles" of the society who feels THREATENED because THEY themselves have insecurity issues.
As a result, Tamim toned down himself. It is evident in his batting - and believe me, certain restraint, circumspect CAUTION does WONDERS to batting. No mistake about that. You can't be on one gear all the time.
But, part of growing up and learning is that you ALSO cannot be in putu-putu, slow first gear all the time pleasing your superiors and butt kissing everyone.
Tamim has softened himself up and honestly at this stage of his career he has nothing to prove in terms of his batting. He can get away being the better man. But at the same time, it's not even about that. The reason why he was submitting to Virat's subtle dominance is because he thinks that ARROGANT GIT is head-and-shoulders above him.
It's NOT a question of arrogance or ego. It's simple matter of courtesy and giving due respect to a fellow human being without pedestalizing him or looking down on him.
Tamim has softened up. He has been MADE to soften up and hammered down by low-life authorities of board members and think tank due to THEIR short comings. And if Tamim doesn't regain his self-respect, it will translate in batting.
From chiefly a CEO perspective of looking after best interest of my team, my unit and my company - ie th BRAND of Bangladesh cricket, in my eyes this is not a good news.
I can care less if Tamim bends down and slurps milk from a pan like a dog or kicks a disabled man in his crotch. His mannerism, behavior and body language isn't the question. But how exactly it shall manifest on field is. And that's what bothers me. His personal life is his personal life.
My point is this simple:
I am not asking you to look up to me. I am not asking to look down on you. I will respect you for the person who you are and view you at the same level eye-to-eye with equanimity.
Honestly guys, it's not that difficult to see what I am preaching here. You don't need to be a rocket scientist or a Stanford PhD in macroeconomics or polymer psychology to figure this s*** out.

You don't see Mark Cuban going to Kevin Leary: Kevin bhai Kevin bhai....
Mark calls Kevin, Kevin
Kevin calls Mark, Mark
It's not a question of superiority. It's not a question of age. It's not a question of authority. It's not a question of penis envy. It's not question of stature. It's not question of monetary dominance. It's simple matter of courtesy and self-respect.
And if our culture promotes it, then I have problem with it. Culture must change, because I will not.

This is really funny man. But yes, I agree I remember Tamim as a golfer from Chittagong, using golf swing like shots to connect everything, a hack machine, so to speak. Then he started swelling up, in the middle, he gave up smoking (which to this day,I don't know if it was a rumor or not if he ever smoked in the first place), but he did become leaner. And now he is back to becoming fat boy again, but this time, he has shed his golf technique for a tourette syndrome type style where he will block 20 balls straight like he has downs, but then mix it in with some hack shots when he gets the yips. No semblance of a paced innings whatsoever.
