brazil is the favorites
after watching brazil vs ghana, i was wondering why people dont make them favorites. it is really hard to imagine brazil lose a match. all the players are physically super, fast and skillful, passing is immaculate. ghana was just chasing the shadows.
it really takes genius to beat them. i remember in 1990, a maradona special undid them, they were dominating the whole match until maradona got through the defence and passed to unmarked caniggia who scored. in 1998, they were surprised by a resolute french and scorching zidane headers. apart from this, brazil always reined supreme. brazil is the favorite once again, what do u think?

They are the favorites along side Germany and Argentina. Who will knock the other one out.
The second tier team contains: Italy, Portugal, Spain and England (over-rated).

Well, on paper , they still are favourite: but, on performance, I believe Germany is the most favourite team to lift the cup. They have a very effcient midfield and attack and play really fast. They also have the home advantage. Brazil, if they some how manage to go to final ( doesnt look like with current performance), they will probably get beaten by the super german team.
But, hey, I am not giving out the thoughts that Brazil wont be able to win this time too. They are pretty good enough to repeat the feat. Only worry, is the coach's tactics. He is playing old slow players are defence and midfield. Players like Carlos, Emersson, Adriano should not play in the starting eleven. It also hamper Ronaldinho game. He likes to play to the front and becoz of Emersson, he has to play below the midfield line. He was superb in 2nd half agasint Ghana and that was becoz, Silva and Juninho was doing the job in the midfield and he could make those run through the wings. This is how it should be, definitely not the way Parreira is playing at the moment.
If brazil gets beaten by teams in the next rounds, to me, I will only blame Parreira for his faulty team selection.

Yeah, it's time to drop Adriano, Emerson, Carlos and Cafu. Hopefully Robinho will be fit for the next game and Brazil will start without Adriano and Emerson. I don't think he has the courage to drop all four at once.

yea true though Brazil so far not playing upto the mark, probably the selection not sure. German team looked solid so far, but they will face Argentina and that will be a decided for other two favorite team. I am considering that game like final lol.
Spain is a good team but till now as of the report says they are tieing with France, last time France pulled out a thriller defeating Brazil, so who knows what Zidan has left in him. If Italy and England goes through who knows they can do something too though they are not top favorites.

There is a lot of critisicm of Brazils performance yet they are able to get the results. If they are playing badly and can still get results like 4-1 and 3-0, just think what they will do to teams when they hit top gear.

No doubt Brazil is the favorite for winning the cup. But Favorite Teams don’t get the Championship always---the Burning Example is 1950's Brazil, 1954's Hungry, 1966's Portugal, 1974's Holland, and 1982’s Brazil. So anything can happen....

Although, France is my most favourite team in Europe, for some reason I am not at all happy that they beat spain to make a duel with Brazil in QF. Brazil has a very poor record against France. Somehow , brazil alawys loose against France. Next round could be the end of Brazil in this world cup. France might not be playing great football at the moment, but, one Zidance is enough to beat Brazil. Moreover, France can readily exploit Brazilian defencive weakness.
Germany is the only team at the moment, that look like to win this world cup. England, max .. upto semifinal. They dont have the strikers to score goals.

No my friend, i have not watched any match on the pitch. I have my thesis submission within next 8 days and really missed the worldcup. Also, the ticketing system was crap, Tried but luck didnt favour much. The only ticket I could have got was between Saudi Arabia Vs Tunisia. So.. was not intersted. So, unfortunately, I am also watching games on TV ,,just like you guys

Brasil may not be playing their best but they are still favourites. They're just under a lot of pressure because people expect too much from them and criticise for not delivering enough. They are 5 times world champions for god's sake. You can never get enough of Brasil until they win it all and it's good to see them struggling so far.. it should make them focused and work harder towards their main goal.

Here comes the pressure issues again !!
"They're just under a lot of pressure" and they will play France.
Next thing you hear- "France drugged them" !!
That's how I expect to see Brazillians after the game on July 1:

If Brazil plays the same way they played against Ghana, Henry is going to make his first world cup hattrick and France gonna win 5-2 (or, somthing around that).
I am going with France. Solid defence, better midfield, they only need to use their opportunities.
Come on Henry!!!

France proved my word, though after the exit of Argentina I was supporting Brazil today.
