Rumor: Maradona to become Argentine Manager

Pekerman has said in the past few months that Maradona should coach the team and now that Argentina has been eliminated the rumblings have grown louder. And Of Course Maradona wants to coach the team, and with Pekerman resigning and with the success of Jurgen Klinsmann as Germany's coach it's probably going to happen.

Do you think he'll be a good coach?

Great player not necessary would make a great coach...
but then again, u have examples like Kaiser who showed the whole world that it can be done..

even though im not a fan of Argentine football team, but i wud like to see Maradona coaching his country... just because it would bring an extra added flavour to the games...

Good luck !! if he goes on with the managerial post...

Well Pekerman has resigned as coach of Argentina.

Perhaps Maradonna might step in...don't know how useful he is as a coach though.

I dont think Argentina needs Maradonna as their coach. He was great as a footballer but, he may not a be good coach. Argentina has the most gifted players at the moment and all argenina needs one tactically genious coach. I dont think Maradonna has that.
Bekenbauer was a much better footballing brain and Klinsmann has Löw who is an absoulte tactica genious. So can realyl compare them with Maradonna. Argentina needs a iron man .. not a over emotional coach.

Coaches in soccer dont seem to last long for some reason. Hiddinks is leaving for Russia aswell. Unlike cricket we had Whatmore for God knows how many years.

since we're talking about coaches-not-lasting, did you see how Otto Pfeister left his side right before the world cup? and flipping the coin, did you see how he took a team to the world cup whereas when he was our coach we couldn't even win the SAFF?

we're useless! too many times now i've watched a game and wondered what it'd be like to have a team representing my country out there in the top 32...

Wake up ATMR. it is crime to even dream like that. period.

As for maradona, I don't think they should let him.

1. He do drugs, could be a bad influence for the team.
2. He might instill unfair practices in the argentine team.
3. He might not survive a match. I mean, he is too passionate for the game of Football. He may have a heart attack right in the field. Why risk a legend like that.

yeah, he certainly isn't from t he right kind of background. i don't think anyone would feel safe with their team under his supervision.
