There was a article in support of 3 pacers....... and excluding enamul. I am posting my thread once again.

<<rafiq is a must, he can get in the team by his batting alone. the question is whether enamul or 3 pacers?

reasons for playing enamul
1)he won the only test for Bd and is probably the only match winning bowler for Bd
2)England is traditionally weak against spinners. If you go down the history u will always see it is the subcontinental spinners who won tests against them in England. both india and srilanka won their only test on the back of murali and kumble. u can see how mushtaq have made a weak county champion. u know how many times warne became terror for england. there are countless many examples. ofcouse enamul is still not in warne/murali league but he is young and quality.
3) in this series, Bd most probably will try to stop england from scoring large totals. SLAs are good for that strategy, they can bowl outside leg in rough and hard to score in that situation.

reasons for playing 3 pacers
1)pitches are conducive for swing bowling
anything more? :-/ >>

I take the argument enamul is no warne and Rafiq gets the vote over enamul. But the question who is third pacer for Bd and is he going to be better than enamul. what about the 1st and 3rd points?

Yes, enamul should be in the 2nd game starting sunday and i'm pretty sure that all the pro-enamul arguments will fade away after that. don't just look at him as a spinner. he is a spinner who depends only on turn. as long as i can remember he does not have arm balls like rafique yet. taking him in the squad will be harsh on him as it will screw up his averge and reputation. and many of us here would not like to see him again because he "did" bad in england. rather keep him in where he suits not in early summer england.

Definitely lets play Enamul next 2 practice mathes and then conclude. We are so quick to take him out of the picture, in excuse of the weather. BDfan made some very good points and my assumption is BD must play Enamul to take the game on the fifth day. Because yes, at least he can check the runs and nicely complement Rafiq. If we go by 4 best bowlers, Enamul is in that list.

I know becasue of late summer situation Enamul will not as effective, but if he bowls 30 overs say for 2.5 hours, I dont see England scoring more than 75 runs.

90 overs per day, no matter what (except weather), so if Enamul can chew up so many overs giving away very few runs, then why not play him instead of the third seamer?

Maybe just for experiment BD should play 2 seamers and 2 spinners in one of the practice mathces and see how that goes.

let enamul play in next 2 practice matches, see how he does. if tapash keeps playing bad and enamul can make an impression, then i guess BD could take 2 spinners. otherwise, go with 3 pacers and 1 spinner.

I wish McInnes would share his views about this too...since he saw him bowl in England last year...but I am not sure if richard visits our site that often any more.

pompous, what do you think, you had been following enamul through richard's eyes I suppose!
