I am just finished watching the 2nd day 3rd session's highlights.
Rajin & Rahim had thrown their wickets away by trying to play way outside the off stump (it was 16 year old Rahim's debut innings, so I'm not blaming him much).
The rest of our so called 'lower order batsman' did not even try to defend balls that were on the stumps. I just wish that our lower order batsman (I say they're still tail enders - as long as they can't defend properly) could at least try to defend with their heads down and not go bashing balls all over the park when they saw the balls outside the off stump.

I think the problem was strategy, why and how to start first innings against a score 550+ and play for remaining 1.5 day.
Why : We all knew we are going to chase a 550+ runs, so our top priority should be try to avoid follow on first, and force the match to a draw for sure.
How : for that reason, we should have concentrate on keep wicket in hand with a slow start as a top priority, avoiding any kind of risk or loose shot, like Rajin and Mushfique played. If things goes ok then they can try to accelerate run rate for reasonable score.
But the way they played which seemed to me.......
Why : To score a reasonable first innings score against 550+!? or try to avoid follow on with quick score rate!? but wasn't aware much about backup plan in case of failure.
How : Dominate over bowlers and Keep a high run rate!? but again wasn't aware much about backup plan in case of failure.
So in my opinion, we had problems with our first innings strategy according to the match situation.

They all played just as they wished, without listening to the coach, captain or anybody else. They just came in, tried to slog and left the wicket with no sense of responsibility or commitment.

Watched the highlights also. The only good thing that I found from those clip was that the players were not outplayed by the opponents. They all more or less gave away their wickets trying to play shots. It wasn't like that they were beaten by the pace, bounce, or swing. Hopefully, they will learn to leave balls sooner rather than later. I am still hopeful. Let's give them a chance.

Just finished watching the 3rd day 3rd session.
Even if half of the players (5 out of 10) had been a little responsible and committed, then we could have actually enjoyed watching the match - just like I did watch & enjoy Mushfiqur Rahim's batting.
Also another thing that struck my eyes - Yardy may be called a medium pacer, but from the looks of the highlights, he looked to be a line & length left arm spinner (even not in the caliber of Enamul Haque senior category). Even the other guy - Wright also looked like a left arm spinner to me. So they may be the English version of our Rafique/Enamul Junior? Ofcourse, the English pitches do not support spin or turn; and thus Yardy/Wright aren't spinners/turners of the ball. Anyway, i've said in another thread that maybe pressure got into our players.

I would say, Rahim's dismissal cannot be decsribed as a gift as he was playing with number eleven..
