.....you are doomed.

Taunton is the flatest pitch in the world after Antigua.

At least it may give your batsman some time in the middle, but your bowlers are doomed.

what is your logic? because Antigua is a first pitch it will help batsman and not bowler? how?

Taunton is a FLAT pitch, this is a terminology.

Basically, there is little assistance to bowlers off the pitch, the ball comes onto the bat at an easy pace, the bounce is consistent and the lack of movement means good batsman find it easy.

County sides always run wild at Taunton, it is an great pitch for batting.

i very much doubt that, there was hype like that against the test series we had, i very much doubt they will score above 350, ill bet around 300. i very much doubt we are doomed.

so in other words we may reach a score of 300. The pitch will help bashar, ashraful, aftab, rafique and mashrafe.

Don't FLAT pitches help spinners more than pacers?

At Taunton, India scored 371 against Srilanka in 1999 World Cup (Tendulkar contributed only 3, BTW)

regardless of where we play our main goal is to perform our best and we should be not overwhelmed by looking at the pitch or the outfield or whatever. we should just play like tigers. and we have bolers like mashrafee, rafique and ofcourse nazmul. even if one of them shines in each match whoever the opponent is they will be able to score 350 runs. these are just insulting stories. let the media say whatever they want to. they have all the rights to do that. but one day the ball will come to our court. and that time we will not look back.

Yea, sorry, I got mixed up. I heard on the radio that the Aussies next match is at Taunton, but I forgot that the Aussies had another warm up game.

Sorry.

Mods, lock this post.

i dont think there is any reason to lock this post though. we still can discuss this issue. because our main concern should not be where aussie is batting but what if aussie bats first and thats what the title of this thread says.

i forgot to congratulate flintoff for chucking in the test match against bangladesh. it was very funny to learn that flintoff had finally had to take the option of chucking when he realized that it was not possible for him to get the bangladeshi batsman out in a normal manner.

Aussie scored 359 in world cup final......they are the best.....and in their day they can do it against any side...........
i also beleive if Rana and Rafique goes well........we can also restrict Aussies below 300 in a placid track.

restricting aussies below 300 on a PLACID track will take some great efforts from our bowlers and fielders. actually, this goes for almost all other test teams. aussies put up 300 regularly on pitches all around the world. to do that, we'll have to have masri/nazmul picking up some early wickets. in addition to that, rafiq/rana/chacha has to somehow restrict the runrate in the middle overs.

flat,or fast,or low,our batsmen will fail.that's no secret.

If the Aussies bat 1st.....

So we will bat second. So whats the problem?

Is loosing by 9 wickets within 20 overs is much better than loosing by 180 runs?

Bangladesh might be the weakest team in NatWest Series but no team has the highest score against us in ODI and we never scored the lowest in ODI. Even if the pitch is flat our batsmen and bowlers are very well used to that since we have all flat pitch at home. If aussie's bat first I think it will be up to spinners and cha-cha to contain the aussies. Our med-fast bowlers will be hit more as it is easier to get boundaries off of faster balls. If the slow bowler keep their line & length I am sure they can keep the score below 300.

Even with all theory and analysis I would still go with luck. Let's hope we win the toss and bat first.

On a flat or slow pitch we should adopt the SL model. Use slower part-timers and use up the middle overs. We have Rafique, Chacha, Rana, Aftab, Rajin and Tushar to do that.

rob22888 you are an i****. It is a forgone conclusion that BD will struggle against Australia, regardless of the pitch.

If you intend to stir the pot, I suggest you go to nearest biker gang pub, and chance your luck there. Otherwise, quit posting provacative messages and say something interesting.

If the Aussies bat 1st we will loose, and if we bat first we will loose too.

So what's the big difference? The point is OUR SCORE, not AUS's or ENG's score! We should concentrate on our bat/score and try to keep it 200+ in this series. That should be our goal I think.

Rana needs to play all matches. He will be good in england i know it. If Aussies bat first they will make 300, then BD will make 250 I will be happy
