I am not big with following the coaches so I have to wait and see what other people come up with ... also, have to see who BCB picks so we can have another poll on that. Anyone want to name some names ?

I think Dave Houghton will be an ideal coach for us. Not only does he have experience as coach, he is the only person out there who has the experience of captaining a nation into Test cricket and transforming them into a decent Test side in a pretty short time.

How about Sandeep Patil. He will develop us quickly like he did to Kenya. His term with Kenyans is ending after this WC. I would go with Sandeep Patil. He has coached Indians too.

Both Kenya and coach Sandip Patil hasn't gone through the test of Test matches yet. So, we can't say he is an ideal coach for Bangladesh in both One Dayers and Test matches.

For heaven's sake, why??? He might have worked wonders in Kenya, but odds are 100 to 1 that he would screw up in Bangladesh.

We should finally get a coach who will not only motivate our players, but instill some much need discipline in them, i.e. beat them senseless when they screw up. We need a Bob Woolmer, Dav Whatmore, etc. I hear Richard Hadlee would be available...that might be an avenue worth exploring.

But for the love of God...no Pakis, no Indians, no Sri Lankans! Do we see any of the other South Asian sides trusting their own coaches? No. So why should we?

But knowing Loby's fascination with Pakistan cricket, we will probably end up with a friend of a friend of a friend of Wasim Akram's mother's cousin's dog's turd's bacterium.

Hold on hold on.. looks like you missed it ... mohsin Kamal was coaching the son of the PCB president. As a thank you, one of our officials got a high post in the ACC.

Why did you have to go blame on the poor dog's turd's ? He's got feelings you know, unlike some of this 'officials' and players.

Why don't we get all three - Gordon as our specialist batting coach, Trevor as our specialist fielding coach and Mohsin as our specialist bowling coach?

And get someone like Imran Sarwar - a local coach to be the head coach. I know that he will be getting too much monopoly - too much power on his hands. But if we can get specialist coaches in all three fields - then do we need a national head coach?

Well Said fwullah!!!!!!!!

One coach is needed for CHAPABAZI....
One coach is needed for sledging....
An Australian would be a good choice for this...:D

fwullah,

In line with your thoughts, I guess this is what we need (THE IDEAL SOLUTION) :

Something like this --

Chairman of the panel :
He will act as a Cricket Specialist and Consultant to the BCB. He will also be the head of all coaches. This person can be someone like Richie Benaud or Allan Border(Australia), Viv Richards (West Indies), Ian Botham (England) or Sir Richard Hadlee (NZ). With this person's presence, BCB will have a lot of accountability. This person should have an excellent cricket background and a wonderful reputation. He should be highly influencial in the international cricket arena. [Someone from the West or West Indies]

Plus 3 specialist coaches, one each for batting, bowling and fielding

- A local Coach and Co-ordinator, someone like Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, Nazim Shiraji or Atahar Ali Khan. This person will be the LINK MAN. Linking the east and the west. (The sub-continental person, in our terminology)

The question is -- can we afford this luxury? 2nd question : Am I being too theoretical ? Or it is a Dollywood movie ?

No matter what, I sincerely believe we need to get some BIG CRICKET PERSONALITIES inside Bangladesh. Not only do we need to improve our cricket, we need a CRICKET REVOLUTION in the country. We need to change our style, our processes and procedures. Only people like these big names can initiate some dramatic changes.

Sometimes I tend to agree with what Shahid says -

"Bangladesh would win the 2015 World Cup"

We need a lot more than just coaching. We need DIRECTION. We need LEADERSHIP.

Oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! (LOTS OF IT )

Yes, definitely a Dollywood movie, how about: "Underarm it like Trevor" starring Doorbin as the Asian boy/man whose parents wanted him to be a respectable doctor or engineer instead of loafing around the cricket field...:D

We need coaches and officials who can actually go out there and replace the players because they are the ones who need to do their job right. The rest (fields/officials) affects, but not like the way it was presented in the 6 dismal performances in march.

I guess, we know now that the team was full of chokers. Will be interesting to see when they come out because I still think they are far better then what we saw out there.

Atleast DOORBIN agrees with me. Yes, we are the 2015 champs, no doubt. I think DOORBIN is also an 18 year old.

Oh yeah.

To you rafiq - keep practising. You have hidden talents in story-writing and Dollywood moviemakers will pay you well. Oh yeah, with such a story, good money can be made over there.

A bit of a surprise - I didn't know you had such a sense of humour!!!

Laughter is contagious and the environment is just right.

Trust me -- everyone enjoys comedy. Life is full of hardwork, worries, stress, obstacles and challenge.

Comedy is the balancing factor. The other important words are peace and friendship.
