Habibul Bashar interview on daily star

I read the interview and I was impressed a lot with Bashar. What impressed me a lot is his mindset. His language make me feel that Bashar hates having respectful losses and want to win....which is the correct mindset for me.......if the captain of the team has this kind of mindset then it is good for the younger players as well. Also liked the comment "Hoping for an enjoyable finish"............this is the way to go i think

loved it! bashar's attitude has really impressed me. bashar is maturing fast as a captain.

"If someone is asked to keep one end up that does not necessarily mean it has to be done just to serve that purpose only. It is always good to push a single here and there and once you are doing that it releases pressure on the other batsman on the other side," remarked the Bangladesh captain.

I apperciate his attitude and his higher expectation from JO. However, what about his own batting?

I also think Bashar also needs to work on his running between the wickets, I have seen him get run out a lot in one day matches, twice already in this series.

About his own batting:-



"I was really upset when I got out cheaply. Had I been there till the final over we could have posted a decent total. The wicket did a lot for the spinners and if we could put a total beyond 240 it would have been a good contest," remarked Bashar adding that he should have attended the press briefing in the absence of coach Dav Whatmore.


About the toss:-



It was just not that he won a good toss, his first success with the coin, at Headingley but he also read the pitch well and more importantly decided to retain two spinners.

Good thing that he reacted like that about javed's innings...He didnt hail it as a great, wonderful innings as people might have done in the past...

I am one of those fans that others might label at times as a <b> "Bashar Hater"</b>. The truth is (like many others), I do not and have not ever hated him. But I have always felt <b><u>extremely</u></b> annoyed at his lack of strong leadership. The other thing that irked me tremendously was his greater love of hook or pull shots over the well-being of the team's scorecard.

After reading his interview and after watching ball-by-ball on TV all of the test matches and the five ODI matches so far, I am so happy to see that Bashar is becoming the captain of Bangladesh team.

The way he restrained himself in the last 4 ODI matches, is awesome. It had to be a great struggle for him to have changed his playing style so much.

He has held that designation for a while, but only now is he becoming <b>the captain</b> that our team needs. This interview is so mature and grounded!
