Who would be the best wicket keeper right now?
I dont mean wicket keeper batsmen for which gilchrist/dravid take the honors, but who is the most reliable with catches/stumpings etc ?

I am asking coz in the wc we saw most keepers making mistakes, boucher, dravid, sangakkara, and our own khaled mashud.

Here are top ones I found in a quick research...

Test
------
Gilchrist has 168 dismissals in 39 tests. Thats 4.31 per match.

Boucher has 228 dismissals in 58 matches. Thats 3.93 per match.

Rashid Latif got 112 in 34 tests. Thats 3.29 Avg.

ODI
-----
GilChrist has 270 Dismissals in 162 matches. Average dismissals per match is 1.67.

Boucher has 212 in 143 matches. Thats 1.48 average.

Moin Khan got 257 in 190 matches. Thats 1.35 average.

I don't think Pilot is Bangladesh's best wicket keeper. May be he was best when he was selected for the national team during the mid-nineties, but now he is getting too old for the tough job. The only way that he has been playing for so long as the keeper is because he is a good batsman along with the gloves in hand.

I think that although he made mistakes in the wc Sangakkara truely is a great wicketkeeper. Sri Lanka are experimenting right now however i dont think they will find someone as capable behind the stumps as Sangakkara

Dismissals per game is also dependent upon the quality of the bowlers.

Without a doubt Gilly's the man....whenever the ump gives not out when an edge is obvious Gilly always knows cos his massive ears can hear anything
