Sourav's played his last match for Glamorgan the other day.

DD Cherry, MA Wallace +, RE Watkins, J Hughes. MJ Powell. MP O'Shea, RN Grant. RDB Croft *, AG Wharf, DA Cosker, HT Waters

Ryan Watkins, the 22 year old all-rounder born in Abergavenny, will be making his first-class debut, as will 18 year Michael O`Shea who has been in prolific batting form recently. Good moring everyone. Surprised to see Mashfiqur Rahim out of First 11. What is going on herč? Moreover.. they are again playing with Five specialist bowlers in a 3-day match. Shahin's inclusion is good.. but. not in the expense of Rahim. Rahim should have been kept as a specialist batsman.

Agreed.. but he needs to learn to blend the swing with the ball. There is no other place better than England to learn the swing of the ball. So. he really should use his chance.

I dont think Shahadat will ever be a potent bowler bcoz he doent have much btween his ears! So far he hasnt shown any inclination to learn from his mistakes... he is probably trying to bowl just fast and bounce out the batters:-/

His pace - 82/83mph- is no threat to any quality batters: sooner he realise this the better it will be for him. Perhaps, someone else needs to pass on this info to him as it seems clearly he isnt able to descern this for himself:exclamation:

when we field, the pitch becomes batting freindly.and when we bat it becomes bowling freindly.;)
i am extremely bothered by the amount of no balls these medium pacers bowled.they are not express and they have no excuse to bowl even one no ball.taposh did the same in england tour.all of them have a lot to learn.

How do you know this? are you watching the game? Your just reading a scorecard.

It's like if you read Mashrafe's scorecard vs England you'd think he did horrible! but he didn't and he was the one troubling the batsmen.

You keep saying TEST bowlers. But my friend WHAT TEST experiance? You think Enam troubled Zim at our back yard makes him a world class test spinner! I don't think so!! and a-part from who eles do we have TEST class. YOU really think Rajib is now a TEST class bowler after the battering he got at Lords.

Come on Bhay, think again. I am going in the right direction, but one stem at a time. These guys are in the A team, give them a chance, let them enjoy the game so they can boost their confidence level.

Penalty runs are awarded automatically if a live ball hits the wicketkeepers helmet (which he's allowed to keep on field just behind him).

i am not so dejected...these guys barely have FC experience. you consider that between our five bowlers enam, rajib, and talha have what 12 test caps between them? if that is what you call test experience, then what is ashraful? a test expert?

our main bowlers struggled in england to pick up 5 or 6 county wickets, the fact that less experienced teams have bowled em out at least once is heartening at the very least.

i am not saying we played well, but face it bowling out a team for 230 odd runs was pretty good.

I think batting is what we need to concentrate more on. Without class batsmen showing up regularly is will be a bumpy road. Bowlers will come in time. 380 is a huge target but if confronted patiently, I am sure a draw would achievable.

I am not confident about the patience of our young crickets. When senior crickets like Habitual Basher cannot stay on the crease for longer than 30 minutes, I cannot be any more optimistic about younger batsman.

How can u teach a player that in test or 3day games losing their wickets is the worst thing they can do?

When they say play your natural game what does that mean? Is it hitting 6 or 4 on every ball, a natural game for out batsmen?

Fazal

I guess it mean minimizing the risk factor or 'saving your own rear'. So that whatever the batsman does, if he is successful in scoring some runs, the advisor can claim some credit for advising (nothing) and if batsman fails they can delegate all the blame to the batsman for not listening to the advisor.

Its a smart move by the advisor. Now after thorough analysis and realizing the tricks, I should start using it in my real life.

IanW
July 27, 2005, 12:31 PM
Geez, guys, do you know what the pitch is playing like ? It's wet, so it used to be overcast, and that means swing.

And English medium pace bowlers know how to swing the ball.

So dont be too harsh on the A side ... it's better they play in unfamiliar conditioins. Me, I'm expecting the best batting performances towards the end of the otur, just like the Test/ODI side.

Ian Whitchurch

Tigers_eye

Ian,
You speak the truth. yes the condition is hard and the bowlers are utilizing their knowledge well. but my point is, 16 balls 15 runs three 4s and then out, or 11 balls 10 runs then out indicates the players (batmen) are on attacking mode under these conditions. I wouldn't mind 30/50 balls 10 runs under these circumstances.

I followed Symond on the past series. Almost in all innings he used caution at first. Once he got settled only then he attacked. Same with Clark and others. If the worlds best follow a pattern on a pitch that swings why can't our batsmen follow them? Use caution first then attack.

I guess I'll stop here and pray these boys learn ASAP.
