Bangladesh A 50/0 (14 ov)
Batsmen: R B 4s 6s S/R
Shahriar Nafees 28 36 3 1 77.78 not out
Mehrab Hossain jnr 18 48 1 0 37.50 not out
Why Mehrab H jnr ? look at his strike rate. He puts JO to shame.

Bangladesh A 50/0 (14 ov)
A good but slow start !!
Shahriar nafees on 28 and mehrab junior on 18.

naheyan
August 7, 2005, 05:50 AM
A poor strike rate indeed.......!!!
they need to speed up a bit...

BanglaCool
August 7, 2005, 05:51 AM
Batsmen: R B 4s 6s S/R
Shahriar Nafees 40 42 6 1 95.24 not out
Shahriar Nafees has upped it a bit. But now first 15 overs is gone. So, it will be interesting to see how the batsmen mix caution with aggression

naheyan
August 7, 2005, 05:54 AM
Well one thing has been known for sure that we can actually open with mehrab hussain jnr but only in test matches.
Surviving that long is truly a credit!!!:bravo:

I think the team management wanted to play Hasanuzzaman but was an opener short in the process. But Mehrab is also a leftie. Wouldn't it be nice to have a right-hander to rotate strikes with Shahreer the seniour partner?

Navarene
August 7, 2005, 06:01 AM
With 71/0 in 16 overs our boys should target some odd +250. Good going Nafees!

naheyan
August 7, 2005, 06:09 AM
Looks like junior is also getting hold of it now.......

naheyan
August 7, 2005, 06:14 AM
Can we expect a century from shahriar nafees today??????

Inshallah letz hope so...

Mehrab has to start scoring at a faster rate now or else Nafees will get out soon because of being under pressure to score. A player should know how to pace their innings.

They are playing a very pre-planned game.
Mehrab took on the bowling when 40 overs had just finished.
So the intention is clear. First 40 overs play cautiously - Last 10 overs go for the broke.

Actually Scotland are a team that will give us much more headache than most other Associate Members (even more than Kenya, I believe). I, for one, am very keen on arranging more Junior level tour exchanges with them. Let us invite them over for a 3-match series of 4 day matches and 5 One-dayers at home, and do the same at their soil. It will benefit both the teams, and those of you concerned with our "elite" test status won't be risking losing to them either. Abeer was a member of the last tour at the British Isles under McInness, remember? Mere coincidence that he is performing well in England now?
