If nazmul is the supersub then we are hoping to bat first. What if Mr. Bashar chooses to field?

Tushar Imran subtitues today would be playing for Nazmul but Khaled Mahmud is the front runner untill the team meeting before the match , according to "Amar Desh"

Weather looks good , we will have another great match today .

We have to bat first . Pitch is looking great . Lot of runs of that pitch . If Bangladesh plays good they can make 265+ today and give a great fight . We win the toss and bat first . We won against India when batting first in sub-contienent too .

"A must win match today for Bangladesh to keep alive into the Series"

That's the sports headline in "Amar Desh" newspaper . The way they are wrinting looks like we are one of the best team in the world already . If it's then Congrats to Bangladesh Cricket Team .

I think margin of loss will be bigger today no matter we bat first or last as Sri Lankan batsmen already had a good look at the Bangladeshi bowlers which were kinda unknown to them. Just dont assume if we score some runs we can win as they are capable of scoring 7 runs per over against us. Only thing we can do is to do our best to make the basic things right and take all the chances that come in our way. Lets hope we can push them as much as possible and a win might also come along.

man u guys are so hard on our boyz, why do u watch then? Sure Ashraful plays silly at times, but say something constructive that you'd have said even if he scored a 200 or BD won by 10 wickets. Let's act like fans from a test playing nation now. Congratulations to Cha cha and thanks for his service (and the win in WC 99). On a serious note...Ash plz rethink your approach...u r too talented and imp. to our team to give away ur wkt like that. Somebody tell him that....if he can hang in there..the runs will come....cuz he's super talented.

Fazal
September 1, 2005, 08:40 PM
So according to Channel-I here is the team

1. Javed
2. Shariar
3. Tushar
4. Ashraful
5. Bashar
6. Aftab
7. Pilot
8. Rana
9. Rafiq
10. Rassel
11. Tapash

and Super-sub Nazmul.

According to channel-I, after team meeting the management decided to selected Nazmul instead of ChaCha. Also they think the pitch will help spinner. Thats why Rana is in the final 11 instead of Nazmul.

My heart goes boom-boom when BD bats.. seriously, I have to wrap my arms around to feel safe that my heart wont explode!

Anyway, congrats to chacha.. looks like his magic has worked.. but Chacha jnr is a scary thought tho!

All the best to our boys. I hope they won't make silly mistakes like the 1st match. We have got to win today!!

Bangladesh will loose badly today because of no Masree...he concedes around 40 runs on the other hand Nazmul/Tapash gives 70 runs...and also just few of our batsmen click otehrwise all have terrible form now...so either lanka will win by 4 wkts or 140 runs

honestly....i wish our batsmen did what experienced teams like sri lanka do. Their batsmen take their time......getting used to the pitch and doing all the cautious things a batsman must do before beginning to belt it good. Bd batsman need to do this, not start the belting from ball 1.

Well,, Srilanka is using the powerplay concept faily well. The whole idea was to see runs. Its unfortunate that Bangladesh is not bowling to take wickets,, rather contain the batsmen. I think Bashar should bring in Spin immediately to stop runs.

more than 300, as I mentioned earlier, if Srilanka bats first, they will not make any mistake like as the first ODI. They will utilize the full of the powerplay. Thats happening now. They surely going to post 320 or more in the board. BD can make highly 220....another big defeat. no need to discuss about only chaca. in our team everybody is chacha...

I think Bangladesh should have batted first today. This is a batsman's paradise. If you batted first and got a reasonable score, say 220 or more, Sri Lanka would be under pressure right from the beginning of their inning, especially if and after they lose an early wicket. Bangladesh could use this pressure to take wickets / restrict Sri Lanka and win the match.

The way it is going now, the end result seems alomst certain - a victory for Sri Lanka - unless there is some spectacular batting collapse by Sri Lankans now, followed by some good batting from Omar, Shahriar, Ashraful, Aftab, Bashar and Mashud.

Remember Bangladesh is the sringboard of stars...Harmison, Taufiq Umar, Pathan ( U19), Farhat etc. I wouldnt be surprise if Tharanga becomes a regular member of Srilanka team.

so is our supersub Tushar just "subbing" or is he "supersubbing" ie has he replced nazmul permanently? he can bowl 4 overs if they need him, although unlikely. i'd like to see a change and aftab in at some point
