View Full Version : Is Cricinfo a site of extremism for BD cricket fans?

Well fabricated articles and features on BD cricket are in an endless hurting process for BD cricket fans when BD is a budding nation. Cricket is not abandoned in the hearts of millions of BD cricket fans for the poor performance of our national team, rather millions are being spent for its improvement - in domestic level and international level, with a complete support of the country. During this period of transition, the role that Cricinfo played in hurting us has already created a bad history which will be passed through generations of cricket.
The well fabricated emotional features are far way from logic and facts, and often create some extremism in thoughts and feelings of BD cricket fans.
So what is the object of Cricinfo?

You are taking this to an absurd level. Can we talk anything else but Cricinfo conspiracy theories nowadays? Is there a full moon out there? Is this because there's nothing else to talk about since there are no tours?
I doubt that at this stage of Bangladesh cricket, Cricinfo can in anyway hurt the actual progress of our cricket. 99.999% of the people in our country do not read Cricinfo articles.
Maybe they write a few articles every few months that contain barby comments, but that's all they are. We have read much worse in the past and learned to ignore those. We can do the same now.

Journalists comments are subject to interpretation, of course beside being flatly good or bad.
Emotion based argument might be a good couch-subject, but publicly is a poor if not desperate form of tool to make a point, more so if you like to earn readers sympathy.
Calling some articles fabricated is just not enough. You need to justify your comments.
Can not justfy? Then stop making such comments. Let the inner fire burn hot and someday someone will come along to make the point.
Sorry

Please feel absolutely free not to come back and not to donate.
Banglacricket is neither a hate producing nor a hate propagating forum. We might not agree or even dislike opposing views, but we try to pay respect to other's opinion instead of just throwing dirts.

Whatever Cricinfo saying has some truth in it. We can not expect everybody will love us just for playing Test or ODI. And do not forget that we have been playing TEST for 5+ years and ODI longer than this. Here and there we have some success but there were no consistency on those achievements .And thus we become very unpredictable and under rated team. We have to earn respect and only way to do this is to play and perform regularly
Cricinfo has been reporting about Bangladesh for a long time .Sometimes I found it unnecessary and sometimes I feel proud about those articles .It's their right to say whatever they want to say and as a reader its up to us to read or protest in a decent manner.
Having said that Just want to add about this forum. I have seen lots of emotional out burst in this forum ,from our moderators as well as our fellow members. We are sometimes too much emotionally involved on issues which could have been dealt with some thought and respect. Please keep this forum as decent as possible and let all of us share our views and enjoy this beautiful game call Cricket.

I have little sympathy for those who abuse our forum by using multiple nicks to back and bolster points.

I don't think chinaman said anything to warrant that response. Stop being silly. Do you come to post here only to bash Cricinfo? If not (and I hope not), there's plenty of Bangladesh Cricket here to come back, talk about and possibly even donate for.

I am avid cricinfo site visitor. Naturally when they write something bad about BD it hurts more. And I have voiced my dislikes.
To answer another post (articles on BD bashing) I had to do a small research. While counting, for every Bd bashing article I found atleast 3 other articles those were good and encouraging. This is in last 2 years.
There were a colleration between bd team performing bad & Bd bashing articles and performing good & encouraging articles. I admit we being in the infancy stage at test cricket and CricInfo being a reputed website, the authors could easily be more considerate but the authors have their own thoughts and we have to live with it. Those of us who do not like recent attacks on BD from cricinfo can choose two options. 1st, stop reading their articles and 2nd, pray for a better performance from the team. We are here for bangladesh cricket not for cricinfo.

Well I don't think Cricinfo is being that harsh to us. I mean they have every right to voice their opinions and I don't think we are playing that great right now to protest what they are saying. We are still very inconsistant and very much underachiving. Only some good performance can stop the criticism or else we have to bear with it.
Mod, please merge all these forums because now most of the forums are against cricinfo and its getting really boring.

In a way i agree with both of the comments.
We are taking this cricinfo thing more serious then we should and we are playing cricket of very low standard. BUT, and theres a big BUT, it doesnt give anyone the right to fabricated emotional features and and create something that isnt there or untrue.
Theres one thing to vioce your opinion but theres one thing to vioce an ignorant and fabricated opinion, the opinion on which cricinfo based some of thier article on.
Its easy to kick someone when they're down rather then help them and pick them up.
