Zimbabwe's disgruntled players have announced that they will not travel to Bangladesh for the Afro-Asian A-team tournament in January unless their demands, including for the dismissal of Peter Chingoka and Ozias Bvute and payment of monies owed to them, are met. They also said that the Under-23 side will not travel to South Africa to play in domestic cup matches in February.
Last week, the players decided to resume training so that they would be prepared for the tournaments, but they changed their minds because of what a spokesman described as "the ongoing failure of ZC to address players concerns, both contractual and governance".
The spokesman said that the organisers of the two events should urgently make alternative plans.

Afro-Asian cricket is a brain-child of Dalmia. Since he is out of indian cricket, it is likely that indian cricket bosses will show any simpathy to this event. Politics is everywhere.
I do not blame Zim players. They are fighting for a good cause. They also decided not to go to South Africa to play the domestic league.
Bangladesh can cancel the tournament and instead try to take the oportunity for playing an A-team in the SA domestic league (where Zim under 23 was supposed to play). That would be much better than playing Kenya A team at home.

Genius Rudro,
What a wonderful idea. Can someone pitch it to CB/BCB? I would love to see that happen.

If Srilanka tour starts in January, I don't think Bangladesh will be interesting in hosting two different tour at the same time anyways.... so I guess this tournament is done...

Cancel it and concentrate on Sri Lanka. They will mad as hell after receiving the drubbibg from India. We are most likely in for another humiliation unless we get our acts togather.

No sadi, this run-drought of our batsmen in the domestic league is just a fluke..they are really talented :):) and perhaps their talent is not suitable in Bangladeshi conditions. :):):) Like we say, X and Y are not used to English conditions.

i feel bad for zimbabwe...i used to feel bad for kenya but kenya has no future so i dont really care that much for them.

This tournament will now be a four-team event following Zimbabwe's withdrawal. The amended schedule has not been announced yet.

 Thanks a lot zimbabwe, you didn't even give us a chance to brake your heart by beating you in Afro-Asian Tournament. Instead you broke our heart by boycotting the tournament. That was a smart move by Zimbabwe though, because they didn't want to face the humiliation of losing to us again.

You do realise the reason they are boycotting the tournament?
It doesn't have anything to do with them not wanting to face Bangladesh..

Yeah I know why they are boycotting the tournament, its because they are having problem with their cricket board. Their current management is corrupt.

I am now hearing reports that the tournament is again in doubt as India might not be able to assemble a full-strength A team because of domestic commitments ... I guess we will know more in the next few days. I still haven't seen an amended four-team schedule. Has anyone else?

The Afro-Asian A-team tournament scheduled to be held in Bangladesh in the last two weeks of January has been postponed until the end of February at the earliest.
