Football is the most popular game of the world so we should
take care of this game besides cricket.

It can bring us glory as well as cricket or more than that.

fifa always does a feature on the rankings each month and it is usually the highest climbers. Bangladesh climbed 17 places last month but last months feature was on India who climbed 9 places. This really annoyed me and left me thinking 'what do we have to do to get noticed around here?' but i'm now glad that they have noticed - even if it is a month later :)

Bangladesh Coach Diego Cruciani said this report made his valentine's day happier.

Read Coach Cruciani's Reaction to this FIFA Report (http://www.thedailystar.net/2006/02/15/d60215040134.htm)

If we can improve in Soccer, it will bring us alot more glory and recognition than winning the Cricket World Cup.

:D I think everyone should take a screenshot of fifa's homepage as this is a significant moment for our nations football team, lol, I can brag to my pakistani mates that whilst they might have zesh rehman, we are featured on the world football governing body's homepage, for a whole month!

Winning WC in Cricket is feasible in 9/10 years time. Winning WC in Football, naah, I can't even dream about it, we are so far behind.

Cricket: Out of 16-20 major countries who play cricket, 5 teams have won the WC.

Football: Out of 150+ major countries who play Football, 7 teams + chora England have ever won world cup. That shows you how rare a country can challenge for the cup.

I can't even dream winning Asia Cup (football).

Did we even qualify for the asian cup???

Do not be pesimistic though, if we give it a huge shot then we might reach our goal.

EDIT : I saw the 1966 final, the goal in the extra time is still debatable but it was atleast not from a penalty ... they really had to work for that goal. :D

Winning the Asian cup or the World Cup, is not something we will be seeing, who knows maybe our childrens will.

Didn't Bangladesh win the South asian cup by beating Mauritus in the final and India in the semi a few yrs back?

This is a great achievement for Bangladesh. Especially when considering that we are not a first world country like Japan or possess the oil wealth of Saudi. Perhaps we can build on that platform for the Asian Cup?
