CRICKET Australia is committed to its coming tour of Bangladesh despite telephone threats to bomb Ricky Ponting and his team on their next tour to the subcontinent.

Repeated bomb threats against the Australian team were made by a caller to the SCG during last Sunday's second final between Australia and Sri Lanka but Cricket Australia said it was planning to go ahead with trips to South Africa and Bangladesh.

"Our position has not changed," a spokesman said yesterday. "At this stage, we are going to South Africa and Bangladesh but our decision is based on the principle that the security of players and officials is paramount to us.

Ei gula hoilo party goons. Working for money. Stadium mathey fasi diley shob thik hoiye jabey. But then Amnesty, will label BD as terrorist state.

Looking forward to see Australia and "Pointing" losing once again in the hands of BD.

Tours to go on despite threats
By Alex Brown
February 15, 2006

AUSTRALIA'S cricketers have received their second death threat in six months, this time delivered by an anonymous caller to the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust office during last Sunday's one-day final between Australia and Sri Lanka.

The caller phoned three times after play had started, threatening to bomb Ricky Ponting and the Australian squad on their next tour to the subcontinent. Initial reports suggested the call may have been in relation to Ponting's decision not to walk when Mahela Jayawardene claimed a catch — which the fielder later conceded had not carried — although that has not been confirmed.

After receiving the calls, which were placed to a general switchboard number, the trust informed Cricket Australia, which has discussed the threat with security advisers. The caller's identity remains unknown and inquiries continue.

However, the good news is that this threat seems to have nothing to do with any person/organization related to Bangladesh. Read Background story here.. (http://www.theage.com.au/news/cricket/australians-facing-death-threats/2006/02/14/1139890741487.html)

Dont worry, Australia will come in BD....coz our Security system and previous Statistics of protecting International Events are Great...and Above anyone can think of. So No Terrorist can make a threats,....but it will just be a threat....coz....They will be put off by our Security.

I really dont worry about it....coz I heard last time When India Came to visit...there weer serious Threatening...but Afterall...Everything was Foul....They Found out That bangladesh is a Deecent Country for Cricket and Cricketers.

And if there is any serious Issues.....Australia might delay the game....and re scedule it...but they won't cancell the tour. :exclamation:

ei rokom faltu khobor ta koi pailen ? Ei rokom ekta phone Sydney cricket ground e ashlo aar police nak daikha ghumailo :) Whoever rang he is already in the custody for an interview . The newspaper is totally rubbish mind you . Noone reads "the age" in Australia . "Mahela Jawyardene" already apologised to "Ponting" didn't you read it in cricinfo :) ?

If possible remove this thread . If there's any threat then we don't have to tell it to whole world by the net . Thanks in Advance . It's very important to remove this threat as soon as possible . If any officials looking at it then they will be feeling a bit scary for the next tours in sub - continent . You know what I mean !!!!!
