And the people in bogra are so very excited about this whole match thing. Even women are waiting long to buy tickets.. take a look! It seems that tickets are mostly sold out!

Give the Bogra people and the new venue a very big hand!!

Like I said in a different thread, they showed a report on on the new stadium and conditions in Bogura last week. For those who have not seen the pavillion - man it's awesome!

Under floodlights this ground looks like and Australian ground.

I'm very excited to see the matches in this ground (on TV of course).

Well Said.
I should not judge people by their dress.
But my first-look impression was that most of those women in queue are lower-income group women. This is amazing!! It shows the depth of cricketing culture in our society.

I heard that sometime ticket-blacker groups put their people in the line to capture as many tickets as possible. By any chance, এরা আবার টিকেট কালোবাজারী গ্রুপের নিয়োগ করা লোক নাতো?

Very possible. I've seen women ticket-blacker at BNS. So I wouldn't be surprised if they're employed by blackers or blacker themselves. (demand for ticket is supposed to be much higher than usual BNS ODI)

in another thread a member was really worried that people in bogra are not interested in cricket and there will not be a big crowd. i guess they have not undertood that how foolish they were to make such nonsense comment.
from the pictures it can be seen that not only men cricket is popular equally among women. so people who are really worried whether bogra is going to get a crowd or not and whether it is worth making a stadium in bogra or not i think they have got their answer. thank you.

Well the Daily Star did report that hotels are fully booked, journalists cannot find accommodation and people are standing in long queues waiting to get tickets. So I don't think we need to speculate whether or not people are interested or if the stadium will be 140% full when the match begins!

Bangladeshi stadiums are always 140% full for one-day internationals. :)

yeah, great stadium as it looks.

About the women in the line, it could also be that their male counterparts have sent them to take the advantage of the female counter - I'm sure the male line is much longer. The blackmarketeers will be active everywhere - that's natural. That happens in Dhaka too - and will happen in Bogra too.

People in Bogra won't be as 'fancy-looking' as in Dhaka or Chittagong. Another point to note is that Bogra does not have any major University, Engineering or Medical College - so the usual 'student crowd' will be absent, which is common in all other major cities.

the stadium does look fantastic! Obviously a lot different than the usual carnival-like BNS, but does bear a lot of similarities with those low-capacity stadia of England!

whattt??!!! yo guy (whoever said that) - you know how much money will flow if we have international matches in relatively rural areas? the people are gonna go nuts!! we should be grateful that nobody's been murdered yet!! starvation for food and cricket go hand in hand in this country man!

this aint freakin' jamaica! people actually do keep cricket ahead of not only basketball but also everyday life! :)

now a test match in dhaka would probably not attract as many people (a crowd of 40,000 is nothing in Bangladeshi standards).
