I did not do much. Having a kangaroo for the lunch and lion for the dinner is becoming our regular menu. Still it felt wonderful. Completely paid off on the fact that I had to stay up all night and come to office in the morning without a minute's sleep.

Still, honestly speaking it did not feel as good as beating australia or india. how about you guys?

express your feeling.

I didn't go nowhere today just for that win as we got it :)

Same here. One of the reason is it's our second experience of beating a 2nd string national team (1st experience, India). The memory of beating Australia is still fresh, and it will remain the best memory for a while. Maybe it's the biggest reason for us not going euphoric after today's victory.

Actually, ya...The feeling wasn't as pronounced as it was after the aussie match...I felt happy and satisfied...but not euphoric..:P

I actually managed to catch some sleep after the match...my way of celebrating since in the last 3 days, i've only slept for 6 hours altogether..

It was fantastic, because we usually do it very bad aginst SL.
But not that much excited as I was after the win against AUS.

Seems, we are getting accustomed to winning ;)

I am very happy!!!! Here is my feeling about each player...

a) Ashraful: The way Ashraful batted started with 1s and 2s to build up the innings. But kind of disappointed the way he was out and reason for mini collapse. Is it the beginning of new cool head Ash? I hope so.

b) Aftab: He surprised me they way he retuned with the bat as well as with the ball after long break due to sickness. He can bowl effectively, he can take 1s and 2s, he can slog whenever needed. Hope to see more form him

c) Alok: Another good all-round performance from Alok. He can bowl 7-8 overs effectively and score some useful runs, very few people will complain about him in future. Looks like with each success, he is gaining his confidence back... and thereby his form back. Its too early... but lets hope for the best.

d) Mashrafee: What a world class bowler he is. He is our match winner.

e) Rasel: Slowly and surely he is becoming our 2nd fast bowler behind Mashrafee for ODI. Watch out Tapash... he will be a regular for TEST also.

f) Rafiq: Looks like the Chief is still the king of the jungle.

g) Shahriar Nafees: Bad luck for Nafees. He was given out, which was not (based on cricinfo commentary and live commentary). He was about to explode after settling down.

h) Gullu: He was the unsung hero of the BD innings. He prevented collapse in one end. That helped Ash, Bashar and Afatb to flourish in the later part of the innings. His SR was not bad either. Lest see if we are about to see a new Gullu.

i) Nazmul: I don't know. He may need a break from national team and play more in u-19. He looked like over-whelmed and slow to adjust. It may due to his inexperience.

j) Rajin: What's wrong with him? I know he is a fighter, but he is not producing for the team for a while. Now As Kapali lloks like gaining his form back, I hope he doesn’t become the next Alok in the team. Maybe he needa a break to sort things out. Currently he is the weakest link.

k) Bashar: Bashar played a very useful role anchor, when he came to play after Gullu is out. His important partnership of 63 runs with Ashrful gave the platform for Aftab to finish the task. However, I felt he was kind of timid, which was perfectly ok for this game. I hope is more due to team’s need rather than his lack of form.

l) Pilot: His wicket keeping was, as usual, superb. However his involvement with the controversial out will tainted his reputation a little bit, I hope its minimum damage.

Reason: Bashar & Pilot added

Will be waiting how Tapash makes his come back after injury. Have a lot of expectations for him. Nevertheless I want Tapash, Masri and Russel to be regular in our bowling attack. No Nazmul plz unless Tapash or Russel is bowling crap!

i really think tapash and nazmul are sailing down the same boat on the jamuna.

they are, IMO, fighting for the 4th pacer spot...mashrafee and russel are givens, then i think rajib is 3rd in tests (tapash is 3rd in ODI i would say, unless rajib is better.)

we need to start playing our best guys...the selectors got crapped on for including kapali, and while his batting has been below par (but not terrible) his bowling really has been an asset for us. the selectors got one right, and we the fans didnt. good to see kapali back.

but we need to start playing our bests...that means masri-russel-shahadat for tests as quicks with rafiq and enamul (pilot will count as specialist bat). and masri-russel-tapash for ODIs with rafiq and rana.

nothing. just got a bit cocky. went to sleep right after bashar went down - knew we'd make it, and more importantly, have an exam today. woke up in the morning, checked the card (213/6 off 47), took me a while to realize this wasn't the U-19 that i was looking at, and then yawned, stretched and started studying for exams as if this was something that was bound to happen.

I read all the reports that I cound find. But the one following stumped me. I am still trying to resolve the math.

Is there a math major in the readership?

"Mukit, a ticket tout who sold 25 tickets on Monday for Tk 200 each at double price, managed to convince only six customers yesterday even after reducing the price."

Source: TheDailyStarNews"

I think the reporter meant that real price of the ticket was 100 tk and Mukit was selling the same ticket for 200 tk

Wifey and I discussed the match and both agreed that we were starting to get used to this winning thing because we weren't all bouncing off the walls as we had after India and Australia. Then she went to bed right away, I posted on some BC threads and did the same. With a toddler around, you need your sleep when you can get it :)

I had to lift one leg up the whole time ( my way of asking good luck and quick recovery from ankle injury ) and also shuffle among tigercricket/cracinfo/cracbuzz/#banglacricket/bdlive to get the latest info. Surely, we deserve a better broadcasting.

I would love to see Shahadat coming good, we need a genuine fast bowler in test cricket who can hurry the batsman. With some experience, I think he and Mashrafee will be the perfect opening pair for Bangladesh.

Rasel is an excellent bowler for oneday due to his tight line and length.

Anyhow, going back to the topic. I ended up working from home today, since I was up the whole night watching the match. Just finished reading all available news regarding the match, now I am busy going through all the threads in BC :D

Thanks [sarcastic] to the buffering problem with the streaming in the 2nd innings, I decided to get some sleep, as I knew that I couldn't call sick at work in the morning. I had turned the monitor towards the couch so that I could catch a moment, if am awaken by the roar of tiger fans in Bogra.

The last score I remembered was something like BD 90/3 in some 23rd/24th overs, and when I woke up around 7:15 in the morning, I anxiously rushed to the monitor to see, if we could pull it off. And, what a relief it was !!! Since the start of this game, everything seemed to be working in our favor (toss, condition, bowling, fielding) so I was optimistic about the win, but it's hard not to worry about our suicidal batsmen.

Throughout the day, I kept an eye on the various articles/stories in Google News about the game. I hungrily waited for Utpol Shuvra's reports in Prothom-alo. I have also visited slcricket.com, and it's interesting to notice some of the comments like, "why Vaas and Murali were not on the team", "SL might lose the series", "did SL's top order fail or BD's bowling was too good", "how SL captain always gets out by reckless shots", "SL current captin wasn't any different than their regular one (lack of leadership)", "time for Tom Moody to go"...

A friend of mine pointed out that WI is now the only world champion those blood tigers hadn't tasted yet.

I am waiting for THAT day, when BD wins will not be considered as upsets. I am not saying we will win every games, but we will not lose before a match starts.
