Interestingly enough, just like the Cardiff victory over australia, the Ash-Bashar partnership had valuable contribution in the win.. and after that came Aftab with his firepower finishing off the job! This match gave me a feeling that a match-winning trio of Ash-Bashar-Aftab is on the making.. and considering that they are provided a good foundation by the openers like these two matches, this trio will probably win more matches for us in the future.

Lets hope they continue the fantastic work in future!

Now ready to win the Series ? Anyone here ? Why not just let go for it , we have done it before against Zimbabwe then let's try again .

I think its a pretty good combination... aftab and kapali are the best number 6 and 7 we can get... they did their job beautifully today... playing in ones and twos... it was really matured innings from both of them in a pressure situation... if nafees, golla and rajin can stabilize the top order and ash-sumon can form a partnership, we can definately see some fireworks again from aftab & kapali.... Ash showed today what he is really capable of.... if he can keep his head down like this, we can win matches in regular intervals... not in every 30 games...

I think we should play Aftab in both #3 and #6, depending on the situation. In case of batting first, Aftab can come at #3. He was playing well in the first game, could've made a big score he didn't throw his wicket away. And we've seen today how useful he can be in the middle order if we're chasing a target.

I made a statement about 3/4 months ago: Asharaful and Aftab will lead the way of Bangladesh cricket for the next 10 years to come. Probably more people will agree with me now :)

thinks look great for bangladesh. Whenever our openers do well, ashraful and bashar play responsibly and aftab finishes off the game, we win. we have finally found an ideal partner for mashrafee. is there any reason why rajib doesn't play ODIs? imagine rajib in nazmul's place. a pace attack consisting of mashrafee, rasel and rajib! also, i believe we have found an ideal position for kapali in the team. he's not a replacement of a specialist batsman. he can replace rana and play at #7 and win matches for us. if he keeps on taking a wicket or two every match and scores odd 20-30 runs at number 7, we have found ourselves an allrounder at #7.

Yes. You got it right. If we are chasing a big score, or batting first on a benign pitch ( at home ), then he must come come at no.3. He has the qualities to be a good no.6 as well. Runs well, can hit with the best and accelerate. Good point.

Kapali is here to stay in the one day squad. His value to the team is just too much to ignore. Good part timer, good fielder and an effective lower order bat with some experience. With the retirement of chacha, it is easier for him now to retain that spot.

yeah quite impressed with Kapali I must say... bowled really well and batted with common sense.... didn't want to do too much... kept things simple and brought ourselves back in the game... by being an allrounder, whats happening is he is not taking too much pressure on himself and enjoying his game.... good to see Kapali back

brother sadi, u r absolutely right about Kapali. we should play him at this position for another 5 to 10 matches, and then if he gets his confidence back he could get back his place as a batting allrounder, up in the order.
