At tikolo's age, if ash still plays, tikolo will be proud to tell his kids story that he used to play with/agaist ashraful in the same league.

They both played in league recntly togather. Can someone give a comparison?

Whatever the result, I would pick Ash over Stevie. Because, once in a great while Ash will surprise me and I will replay his innings in my head over and over again!

I am sure you heard the commentators while Ash was batting! They were saying it something like this:

When Ash was 17, he was the best 17 year Old in the World!
When Ash was 18, he was the best 18 year Old in the World!
When Ash was 19, he was the best 19 year Old in the World!
When Ash was 20, he was the best 20 year Old in the World!

Now he is 21, and he is the best 21 year Old in the World!

So in another 3/4 Years, he is going to be...

Not a good idea. If you said, Ashraful vs Michael Clarke, maybe we have something to debate. At this age level in world cricket ( 20-23 ) he has few peers in terms of Skill ( lets bury the term "talent", shall we ? ) and can be compared to the likes of Clarke, Dilshan, Yuvraj and few others..These young players has the full range of shots, at ease against pace or spin, exceptional runners between the wkts and all the other good attributes. Its ok to comapre him the with the budding young superstars, certainly not against an ageing veteran like Tikolo who doesn't have Ash's skills.

Ravi Shastri is the one who said that comment. I heard it myself.

I love Ashraful and I love my team but I'd pick Tikolo ahead of Ash on any given day...

my thought exactly...

personally, tho, i would say ash is more inherently talented than anyone ever. perhaps there is a lot of emotion tied to that because he is our boy. but nontheless there is a lot of objective truth to that.

but its the realization of talent that has been so short, but over the last year or so, has really started to shine.

still there is a way to go.

but i will say this:

ash at his best > greater than most anyone at his best

I would change the question to:

On a scale would you put Tikolo closer to Lara or closer to Ashraful.

What kind of question is that? I thought Lara and Ashraful are pretty close to one another. There is no space in between for Tikolo.

Still Tikolo. Ashraful is a treat to watch.. Tikolo is hard to get out. The latter is rock solid the former is an entertainer...

just take at look at Tikolo's 1st class average. it's 51.44. at present Tikolo is much better then any of the BD batsmen. no doubt. but i think Ash will be a much better batsman then Tikolo in 3 years. hopefully. but Tikolo is a class act, he is better then many of the test batsmen of different countries. certainly better then most of the WI batsmen.
