Cat's eye, is it for real? I mean Aftab (MOM) gets one point less than Rana in ODI.

I will make the following changes, and yes I am little biased too.

i will do only the test

Javed Omar 4
Nafees Iqbal 4
Habibul Bashar 3
Shahriar Nafees 5
Mohammad Ashraful 9
Khaled Mashud 3
Alok Kapali 2
Mohammad Rafique 8
Shahadat Hossain 7
Syed Rasel 5
Enamul Haque jnr. 5

batting was really bad overall. if it wasnt for Ash's century it would have been another innings defeat in 3 days. so he is the only one who gets high marks.

bowling was acceptable. rafique gets extra points bc of his 40 in the 2nd innings. rajib's 4 wickets in the 1st innings was instrumental in restricting SL to just a 20 run lead. rasel and enamul were good at times but they failed to get too many wickets.

This is my rationale for the ratings:

If it really did not matter whether that player played or a banana plant played, he got a 0 in my book.

If a player did all he could, he got a 10 (which no one got).

If a player at least tried hard and got some of it done, he got a 9.

ODI:
Rajin Saleh 0
Javed Omar 6
Shahriar Nafees 5
Aftab Ahmed 7
Mohammad Ashraful 9
Habibul Bashar 6
Khaled Mashud 5
Khaled Mahmud, 5
Mohammad Rafique 6
Alok Kapali 5
Mashrafe Mortaza 9
Syed Rasel 9
Abdur Razzak 0
Nazmul Hossain 0
Tapash Baisya 2
Manjural Islam Rana 6

1st test
Javed Omar 1
Nafees Iqbal 1
Habibul Bashar 2
Shahriar Nafees 6
Mohammad Ashraful 9
Khaled Mashud 8
Alok Kapali 1
Mohammad Rafique 8
Shahadat Hossain 8

Sorry

my rationale for rating:
players who featured in ODI and test automatically get 4.

then add
0.3 for each catch
0.5 for scoring 50+
0.5 for taking each wicket

now deduct
-0.5 for scoring duck
-0.5 for bowlers who hasn't got any wicket.
-0.5 for dropping a catch

taposh gets a -2, he can't bowl inbetween the two wide lines that are place on the picth (probably just for him)

Unfortunately all this grading scheme will be pointless if we have another heavy defeat in Bogura with the highest grader (i.e Ashraful) will perform "Zero Grade"

Yes sir, it is for real. Rana only played one match. He did good with the bat ok with the ball as a substitute. Asking more would sure make him a player as an best 11 not a substitute.

Aftab: He was our one match hero. but if you are rating all 3 matches and his performance he didn't do a justice of his talent. One ball duck as a 1st down, and then the carelessly throwing his wicket going for the cross bat and getting bowled tells me he at best performed mediocre.

Sorry, I didn't get you!

When Ash or Aftab score, we beat teams like Australia and Srilanka.

When Rana score, nothing really happens. He is a bowler who always tries his best with the bat. In this particular match again, he was taken in the team as a bowler, and his two overs were sent out of the park for 15 runs.

So, I would value those extraodrinary innings extraordinarily that gives us wins only 4 times out of 112 tries (not taking those minnow teams into account) then those innings that means nothing.

Hello Flipper,
You are entitled to score as much or as little on any player. But when you question my scoring I would try to explain my logic. here it goes:

Aftab: great batsman, expectation also great. Played all 3 matches in ODI series. So can't judge only from one match performance. Why 5? The one ball duck, and the way he got out in the first ODI. So I rated 1st ODI - 4, 2nd ODI - 9, 3rd ODI - 3. Total of 16 avg of 5. Bowling wise didn't do much. Same match where Taposh got belted for 45 in 4 overs, rana had 15 in two overs, Aftab had 3 overs for 22.

Rana: played only one match so must judge his performance from this match only. 23 of 32 balls. For a number eight batsman staying in for 10 overs tells me he deserves more chances and has the tempartment. The loss wasn't as humialiting as once I thought it could have been because of Rana and rafique's partnership. Not using Rana earlier in the bowling attack that is Bashar's fault not Rana's.

Nafees Iqbal is really underestimated here. Looking at the scores, they really don't reflect his potential and ability. I would have given him a 6.
