The trick is not "Any Given Sunday", as they say in the classics. It's getting those Sundays to come more frequently.

"Any Given Sunday" is too much off a football cliche, as immortalized by the great Al Pacino in one of the best football movies. Anyway..has been a good year for me in football as well. The "Steelers" are super again and Tigers are improving every game...

We really do let our imaginations run wild don't we.

I guess we all love to fantasize and dream. I can understand right now we're on a high after scoring 300 against ...well Kenya and we feel invincible.

I'm waiting for the Aussies to come and put us back down to earth.

Soon the same topics will arrive.

Fishing outside, Can't play spin, bad umpiring decisions, and cursing our team to death.

But I guess we can enjoy for now.:bald:

If we play a 3 match series with WI I think we have a very good chance to beat them atleast once. :)

Oh yeah Beamer, "Any Given Sunday" was the best Football movie ever - I just had to say it.

And, Fishyguy have you watched last year's NetWest series when Bangladesh played 3 games against Australia in a foreign land. Yes BD won one, and I am not talking about that one, I am talking about the last match. Do you know the course of events that unfolded there?

man SS and FW were enough for this forum. :)

oh oh guys my bad.. by listing em from the top to bottom i means that we have a greater chance to win against the 1st one, then the 2nd one. followed by 3,4,5,6,7 and so and so on..

oh n sorry i missed SA.. :sorry: but well i think tht will be hard .. and they will go right beside England..

:karate: oh n i thought sadi bhai was mostly upto soccer playing nations.. i didn't know argentina and brazil plays cricket.. errm.. :duh:

and guys.. come on lets our team compare only with the ODI playing nations.. lets not insult them by saying all those names like - bhutan, malaysia and stuff.. cause we know they can beat em.. :)

Well... the next multi-national series we are going to play (considering that BD wins the kenya series atleast 3-1) is the Champion's trophy qualifier round. And the 4 teams who are gonna play in it are most likely BD, ZIM, WI & SL.

So have your dreams considering that! ;)

Actually WI is a in sort of a similar position as we are.

They have immensely talented players as I have seen but they are mentally weak.

BD could sneak an upset against them but don't go around saying we can beat them anyday.

They are a class above us and as I have said many times BD has a very very long way to go in ODIs and well right now in test level we have an even longer way to go.

Current West Indies Form

West Indies VS. New Zealand First Test

West Indies 198 all out
New Zealand 335/7 New Zealand already lead by 143 runs, but they will score some more runs because they still have three wickets remaining. So does this tell you something about the West Indies current form. They are no better then us.

I'm going to have to diagree with you.

West Indies have class players.

They would've won the first test for sure if they hadnt changed the ball and had Sarwan not gotten hit on the head which forced him to retire hurt and led to the eventual collapse.

They may be at the bottom but you're only kidding yourself if you think that they are on the same level as BD.

BD is no where near them but if Windies continue this downward spiral long enough and BD keep progressing BD will overtake Windies.

As a diehard Windies fan the pain of defeat after defeat has left me numb but I will never turn my back on them.

let's try to beat England, SA and NZ.

March 19, 2006, 02:01 AM
i say take one series at a time..no need to get too excited over a win against a Kenyan side...

anything but a thrashing 4-0 against Kenyans would really hurt me and my pride....we have had waaayyyy too much exposure than the kenyans over the years and the result should reflect that...

oh...as for as Aussie series..just play ur best and hope for the best...

we might hv won a match against Australia, but boy we will be dreamin real hard to implicate such performance again...

but its not imposssible...

lets go to zim after that...kill the zims...

then try get a series against the WI...and see what can we do..

one step at a time i say...

the whole point wud be to build a team leading upto the WC 07.

best of luck boys

If our players can play consistently as they played last Friday against Kenya, we can beat both Zim an WI at present.

West indies just has 4 batsmen who are much better than any Bangla ones - Lara,Sarwan Gayle and Chanderpl. the rest of their players are quite ordinary, Lara will be gone soon not like he's that great now anyway. WI future doesnt look too bright, in about 7 yrs when most of our players are in their late twenties, we will have a very strong team and I can say with confidence that we'll be better than NZ,WI,SL for sure, and pretty close to the top 5.

But even at the moment we can give the WI a run for their money. And if SL didnt have Murli we mightve defeated them in one of the tests. no worries he will be gone soon.

:karate: yes guys.. thts the spirit.. though i think beating up SAF, NEZ, and ENG is gonna be real tough for us, however i think in the upcoming AUS series we gonna have atleast one win against the Aussis. Cause MacGrath is not going to come, neither is Shane Warn until the first test. We just have to face three good bowlers, Lee, MacGill and tht SYmond guy.. i don know who he managed to pick up so many of our wrickets.. but oh well... i think if aftab, nafees, and ash plays a bit responsibly, we can sure win the match, after another blow from mash and rafi
