I am finding your thoughts similar with our previous selectors who like to omit the seniors without any apprent reason and ruin the team and again a fresh start, again the hiccups and when they recover again through the seniors and ......... continues. :sorry:

I think Bashar, Rafirrrrque, Javed Omar (in tests) and pilot has lot to deliver and they are performing well, they should be with BD team for at least another 3-4 years. And please let them decide when they wants to go. They deserve this!!!

And for all u mashud fans... he must go ( atleast for one dayers)... he is the worst Batsmen-keeper in world cricket. Bashar is not too good for ODI's eiher. he has a dismal ODi record but must stay for now.

How long have been watching cricket? Pilot is one of the best Batsmen - keeper in the world cricket. We need him to be there towards the end of our innings and he is very cool headed. He might not be as good as Gilcrist or Sangakara but he is definitely up there.

hmm yeah.. true.. though out under 19 played really well, but if you look at em, their top order did not make much effort. it was the tail enders who got all the runs.. so i think its not the time to bring em into the game yet.. however bashar is not going to retire after the WC i think he might after the WC2011. Same with raf and mashud

i dont want either mashud OR bashar to leave right after the world cup - i think they still have a couple of years left in them.

rafique will probably leave; in that case it will be up to someone from our large pool of sla's to take over. let's hope they shape up. i would like to see rafique as an assistant coach - for the spinners, perhaps - when he retires. that way, the language barrier will be taken care of, and our youngsters will be able to learn from their boro bhai. the only problem i see is that there's a chance that enamul might get his head cracked when he gets back after a bad day on the field.

ALLRIGHT guys, my wordings are kinda misleading to this thread. i should have written our team should be changed slowly after 2007 when our seniors will retire one by one. anyway, i never said they will all retire or we will force them to retire.

This team is only for ODI.

How old Rafiq is? He says hs is 36 i believe he is close to 40 at least 39. How more u guys want him to play? When Rafiq was batting against Ken(first odi), aftab was telling Rafiq...Rafiq bhai na parle boilen..mukhe bolen.. what that tells you? u think he won't be physically fit after year and half. By the way i want rafiq to play as long as he wants to play with confidence.

Trust me Gulla will be forced to retire. forcing means- will be manipulated by youngters performances. how old gulla is? ten yrs ago he looked the same to me. he is not less than 35.

Bashar is never good in odi except for those 2 partnership with ash. He always put bd team under pressure. He talks before the game but doesn't reflect that in the field. When Bashar will loose his captaincy, in the next series he will loose his place in national ODI team. Mark my words- wanna bet? by the how old he is? not less than 36/37.


Pilot is one of best in the world- i agreed on that. but batting wise he is failing lately. Pilot is good only when team is 134/6 in 40 overs than he comes and take the score to 180 which doesn't do any good. Pilot is one of my fav cric in bdesh. i know exactly how old he is- he is 35 yrs old. one of my best friend's older brother used to hang out with him.

whenever they wanna go, after that we need to have strategic plan to make a good team.

One more thing like 1 and half yr ago i posted a thread abt BD's futrue prospects- i mentioned the following players name..

Tamim will never get into national team. even if he does, only for couple of games. why tamim failed in srilanka? 'caz he doesn't know how to play swing ball. pitch is flat he is the king. and we don't need such a player.

raqibul will make it test before odi.

this is the sort of management thinking needed to run a World class team.
rafique is near forty, Bashar and JO both played as U-19, seventeen years ago in 1989.
masud is no spring chicken hovering around the mid-thirties. good players no doubt, but replaceable.
if they perform and are physically fit, no harm in continuing but if the young guns out perform them
then lack of experience should not be uesed against them.
