can any of our quicks bowl reverse swing with the older ball?
AFAIK, one must have a minimum level of pace to bowl reverse swing. can mash and/or rajib do it???
btw, why is reverse swing so important as per normal swing?
thanks for any info.

I don't know but willing to speculate. The ball changes direction on the air when pressure on onside is higher that on the other side. As a result the ball get pushed in the direction of the high pressure side to the low pressure side. The question is why there is this pressure difference. By having different levels of roughneess at two sides can create this pressure difference due to unequal frictional losses. Additionally, there couldbe swing due to Magnus effect. It is caused by spnning the ball in the air. In theory, the spnning ball will cause the sirface velocity at one side of the ball higher than that of the other. At one side it will be augmented and in other it will oppose. This difference of velocity will cause a pressure difference. I guess the old ball becomes equally rough at all sides. So it could be the Magnus effect that causes the reverse swing. I have seen in slow motion video that the ball sipns vigorously in the air for some bowlers. Perhaps, these bowlers are the one who are most successful in art of reverse swing.
So in addition to the orientation of the seam, the spin if the ball which is a function of the grip and deliveray will play a strol role in reverse swing.

BBC on reverse swing (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/england/4155734.stm)
For example, an outswinger's grip will move towards the batsman in the air while an inswinger will move away from the bat
Which means a natural outswinger will become an inswinger and conversely, an inswinger into an outswinger."

Well the bowlers should learn because everybody's doing it these days.
Apparently, Rasel asked Wasim Akram during the Sri Lanka series and he told him to first master normal swing before going into reverse swing.
Thats why we need a bowling coach.
The best reverse swingers right now are the English, Simon Jones and Mathew Hoggard in particlar.

rasel has the pace for reverse swing??? so reverse swing has nothing to do with pace?
well i am not surprised, apparantly pathan can reverse it as well.
