HAHAHAHA

nah pride isnt the killer. Its the arrogance attached with OVERPROUD-ness. Pride is a good thing -- it teaches you to hold on to your beliefs and ideas knowing they are worthy, and not giving in to other forces.

Good example of arrogance would be australia ... they treated BD like S*** ... and look, how we have defeated them!

rasel and Mashrafe have to get wickets and 231 is not bad its going to be hard if KO Otieno, DO Obuya, SO Tikolo get out in the first 15 overs. Come on Bangaldesh if Bangladesh win they will go higher than kenya and zimbabwe and get to play in the icc trophy instead of kenya come on the tigers. Does Bangaldesh get to bowl a couple of overs because he didnt finish on time?

jeeze...have you guys ever looked at the bright side of things? we scored 231!! we should rejoice the fact that our team is now mature enough to overcome loosing 4 really early wickets. not only that, we also survived a mini collapse in the 130s.

my own take: kapali has been carrying the worst luck lately. he played a chanceless inning. but his demise came from a delivery that he attempted to sweep - the ball brushed his bat, then deflected of his pads into his stumps. it could've gone anywhere.

Kapali was unlucky. Pilot and Kapali deserves most of the credit. From 132/6 to 231 may not seem much but this two actually built the foundation for a 260-280 score. UNfortunately, PIlot's fall triggered a collapse and we lost out on 40-50 extra runs with about 26 balls to go. Very unfortunate.

Shahriar Nafees deserves the credit for us reaching 100 but Golla, Aftab, Ashraful, and Sumon need to redeem themselves for the way they played today. Hats off to Rafique. He is a bowler, but he scored 33 invaluable runs. Biggest culprit for today was Aftab.

By the way, I do not want any of those four players dropped (Maybe Javed for Iqbal and Alok will play for Razzak). Just becase a player fails in one or two match, doesn't mean we need to get rid of them from the team. Thank god that our selectors aren't as knee jerk as some of the fans. :)

Again, Kapali was amazing and thank god for Super sub. We would have been bundled out for 150-160 if it weren't for Kapali and Pilot.

i'm optimistic about winning this game. if our bowlers do their job well, then we should be able to get them under pressur which might lead to falling of wicket. An early blow could develop our way to victory .

This was a great recovery. I have seen bigger teams recover against us after we have taken 3/4 early wicket. It was a great feeling to see Kapali and Pilot show us the maturity one expects from a test nation. Give us few more years. We'll be in the top 4/5 consistently.

yaseer
March 23, 2006, 02:11 AM
come on guyz......do you really think Kenya can make 232??
i think it is enough......with our two new ball bowlers we are gonna have good start for sure.....then we have spinners to back them.

Baundule
March 23, 2006, 02:12 AM
ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Just went to have a toothbrush right after Pilot's out! And when returned, it's all over!!

Got too angry as the first impression. The next time I found it unbelivable and extremely funny! Fun reigns!!

BD is going to win anyway. But I am really happy at Alok's innings. He did nothing wrong after getting chance in this new spell of his career. But many of the guys were already calling for his head. Another spectators' victim is Javed Omar. I think, this innings proves their value in the team.

Another point, now I know why HB did not bat at the first two matches ;)

Tehsin
March 23, 2006, 02:13 AM
The wicket was slow and turning. Our spinners should get some good turns and should be able to trouble the Kenyan bats. Kenya was lucky in a sense that our top order and the tail gave their wickets away/ I never blame bowlers because it's not their jobs. Also, we had some bad luck.

Dying to see Masri and Syed bowl the Kneyan top order to oblivion.

ONe note of caution, the Kenyan body language throughout the match was positive. They will make an attempt to win this match. Whether they can or not depends on how focused our bowlers and fielders are, how aggresive Sumon feels (field placement) and how lucky they are.

pajicheleNY
March 23, 2006, 02:14 AM
guys, how does the pitch look? is it a true pitch or favoring the bowlers? hope it's a bowler's paradise.. otherwise how could we have lost so many early wickets against kenya? anyways.. seems like we made a decent recovery in the end but shouldn't have gotten all out with so many balls to spare.. that's really unfortunate. Having said that, Im keeping my fingers crossed and putting my money on our bowlers knowing how dangerous masri, rasel, rafiq can be. Good luck to our bowlers and the rest of the team in the second innings

Hasib

Beamer
March 23, 2006, 02:17 AM
231 just maybe enough on this pitch. It is very slow. We have a plethora of spin options. If we can do some early damage, it will be interesting to see. It was a weird innings, swinging like a pendulum, at ours and at their favor. Great recovery by Alok and Pilot and they really set the platform for a sure 250+ score. Its sad the way it ended and maybe we are 30 runs short. But this wkt is something..lets see what happnes...we will fight to the end.

rasha
March 23, 2006, 02:21 AM
According to Athat Ali during pitch report, he said it was a beautiful batting track and a score around 300 was a possibilty but as the game started it seemed that there were some early movement for the seamers....and later on the spinners utilised the opportunity...lets hope masri and rasel gets some movement as well...we just need otieno and tikolo's wicket in the first 15 overs...and ya this mishra kid has been good form as well so we've got to get him early too...

PoorFan
March 23, 2006, 02:22 AM
It was a great recovery from Alok and Mashud that's for sure, it would have perfect if our score was 250 damn it! Let see who win this match. If we lose Ash and Bash should be responsible, at least they should have played couple of overs!

just finished reading the scorecard. correct me if I am wrong.. kapali was substituted in for shahadat, right? i understand y he needed to come in at that point of time, it was a tricky situation for the team with so many wickets down but y in place of shahadat? isn't shahadat the better bowler off the two, between razzak and he?

Well I read in newspaper that fatullah stadium pitch is a bit on the slower side. And some people I reckon have already said today that the pitch is a little slow indeed so i think it's probably not a bad decision to substitute Shahadat rather than Razzaq.

There is nothing to be optimistic or pessimistic about. There is no match here. Kenya will get nowhere close to 232.

Kenya is an extremely weak side and BD players could kick themselves for being bowled out inside 50 overs. Anyway what Bangladesh has made is far more than enough. Kenya will not get past 160 at most.

Bangladesh will definitely win this game and the next too, to wrap it up 4-0.
