Lara is 28 n.o. at stumps.

About time he showed some guts and batted where he always should be ..... at first drop.

Maybe you should check Lara's 13 most recent innings before his 83 in this Test.

Let's see: 2 ducks, 2 ones, 2 fives, 3 teens, 2 in the 30s, a 45 and a 226. That's an average of 30 and includes a double ton.

not enuff by his standards, 30 is good, trust me. but not for the worlds best test batsman

Lara has endured many such bad spells and come out the other side as good as before!

People wrote Lara off when he had hepatitis, when he had allegations of woman beating, when England toured WI, when WI toured OZ etc etc

Each time he came back because he is no ordinary player! He is a once in a lifetime player!

Bharat, Please don't 'doctor' the quote facility to make it look like I'm agreeing with Afridi2Belfast.

Actually, he's a mate of mine and we have many interesting chats but we have differing opinions on the relative merits of certain batsmen. :)

If you watched/heard the games, half of the outs in that patch were not outs. So stats not always justifies what it may proclaim. He is the only "class act" left in WI. Without him WI would be #9 in world cricket.
