With some courageous batting by Shoaib Malik, Pakistan secured a draw in the first Test.

The second Test is from Kandy and will start shortly. (04:30 GMT)

Inzamam-ul-Haq won the toss and elected to bowl first.

The end came quickly on day two as Mohammad Asif (6/44) and Danish Kaneria (4/53) finished off the Sri Lankan innings for 279.

Murali then took 5/39 to help skittle Pakistan for 170.

Asif took his tally to 11 wickets for the Test as he ripped through the SL top order.

Srilanka 73/7. Jayasurya cannot bat, so virtually 73/8 and only murali left. Pakistan may find a way to win this test.

This Asif guy really is something special...U gotta give it to him!....Saw him against India in the test series and I was straight away impressed...Really is quite a talent....Looks as if Pakistan might just sneak out a win..cheers...

Too bad Jayasuriya's ended up being on the sideline one innings b4 his last (officially).

It seems like a bad week.. first Langer gets hit out of his 100th test and now Jaya!

A great away tour for Pakistan....2-0 in the ODIs and 1-0 in Tests!! A clean sheet...Cant remember when was the last time Srilanka lost both format on their soil...Welldone Pakistan....cheers...

Mohammad Asif is really impressive.. he could certainly become the new Arsenal of Pakistan's pace attack

What a bowler this Asif is. He actually single handedly won the match for pak. A new comer and already made his presence clear to all. Hope he will not get injured soon like his seniors.

is this the shortest test innings ever?

i think bangladesh has managed more than this every time. am i correct?

New Zealand's total of 26 can't have taken long.

Bangladesh's lowest total is 76 iirc but that may be in ODI's

yea, the 76 was in an ODI against India, that too at home (BNS, dhaka)

in tests its 87 i think. at lords we lasted 35 overs for our 108.
