Now the final 11 will exclude which 3 players??
I guess,
1. Shahadat/Russel (?)
2. kapali
3. Aftab
Kapali and Aftab will be back in 11 in ODI replacing Omar and N.Iqbal.
So the 11 will look like -
1. N.Iqbal
2. Omar
3. Bashar
4. Ashraful
5. S. Nafis
6. Rajin
7. Pilot
8. Rafiq
9. Murtuza
10. Russel/Shahadat (?)
11. Enamul
Look very solid for a test batting side, doesn't it?
I would like to see russel in the team instead of Shahad as becouse stopping easy quick runs should be one of our stretagy.

Didn't know Habibul Bashar was a K A Z I ...
Squad is as expeted ... however I'd differ with sar on Rasel-Shadat issue because I dont believe Rasel is capable of keeping the run-rate down against the Aussies .... Aussies are naturally aggressive players and only aggressive bowlers succeed against them.

Almost there Sar2005.
Aftab for Rajin. Something tells me Aftab will get his spot back. Rajin is being groomed to be an opener. I prefer Rasel. he hasn't done anything to be excluded from the team. In the last two series he only solidified his position in the team.

It seems that Mushfiq rahim was tried in the match vs. SL-A and considering his performance there... he has been taken out of the squad.

Rasel would be a much better option than Shahadat against aussies. His lack of pace would trouble aussies to score a lot from him. Whereas Shahadat might be very expensive. Also Aftab should be back in the fold very soon. Anyway i don't smell something good in this series for Bangladesh. Bangladesh should try to win at least one ODI.

Just posted this in the other thread and would like to share it here.
This is about the bowling attack:
Seeing how the past few days have had tremendous thunderstorms [Photo of BNS on5th April] and the fact that Yahoo, BBC and all other weather forecasters are predicting thunderstorms and overcast conditions over the duration of the first test, I'm having second thoughts about the emphasis on spinners in the team from both sides.
Well, maybe Aus can take the risk of playing 2 or more spinners, but considering BD: It might be positive if Rajib, Rasel and Mashrafee all got to play. The pitches will be damp, and the conditions are very humid no matter what. Especially seeing that bowling is our better strengths, it'd be great to have 3 seamers moving the ball, backed up by Rafique and Enam (or maybe Razzak).
Considering that, I guess my line-up would look sth like this:
JO / Nafis Iqbal
SN
Rajin Saleh
Sumon
Ash/Aftab
Pilot
Rafique
Mashrafee
Enam
Rajib
Rasel
However I'll concede this makes our batting look hollow.... Nafis Iqbal, Rajin Saleh, and SN will HAVE to break from their recent history and for ONCE hang around the crease consistently and not stray onto playing bad shots and getting out. I'm not discounting their excellent performances in their one-off innings'... but for example: SN's footwork and attitude to short whide balls has to improve, and Rajin and NI have for the longest while been unable to play a long innings in intl matches. This is a test match coming up after all, and I'd prefer to see mature temperament, rather than fireworks and batting collapses.
The thing abt Rajin: He merely demonstrated his abilities against Kenya. It doesnt prove the point quite yet.

We've seen match threads way before the matches with KENs. What's going on now? Where are the ever-enthuastic match-thread openers? Fear of the Aussies got better of them already????? ;)

the thing about rajin is that he really struggles against quality swing and pace. if you look at his dismissals a lot of them are lbws pretty much like javed omar. his strength is playing off the back foot. which is fine but bowlers like lee who spear the ball into the pads will find him quite an easy target. i very much like rajins grit and application, but dont really know how successful he can be against the aussie attack.

My 11 for 1st test:
1. Javed Omar
2. Shahriar Nafees
3. Habibul Bashar
4. Md. Ashraful
5. Aftab Ahmed
6. Alok Kapali
7. Khaled Masud
8. Md. Rafique
9. Mashrafee Mortaza
10. Shahadat Hossain
11. Syed Rasel
12. Rajin Saleh
Provided that we're choosing 3 pacers and only 1 spinner, and the conditions are suited for pace bowling (the wicket and weather).
If either or both of Aftab, and Kapali do not perform well, then Rajin comes in for the 2nd test in one of their places.

My choice for 1st test
1. Javed Omar
2. Nafis Iqbal
3. Rajin Saleh
4. Habibul Bashar
5. Md. Ashraful
6. Aftab Ahmed
7. Khaled Masud
8. Md. Rafique
9. Mashrafee Mortaza
10. Shahadat Hossain
11. Syed Rasel
Shariar Nafees and Alok may replace any one of Nafis, Javed, Rajin, Aftab if they fail in 1st test. We should play 3 pacers considaring wet pitch condition, and see how pacers do in 1st test. Then We can bring Enam in 2nd test.
