Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. It's 10:30PM CST. So, EST is 11:30PM.

Good thing that it starts on Saturday ...

I hope Australia gets batting first. Given the rainy weather, and the fatigue-factor, Mash and Rasel (fingers-crossed) may get a few early wickets to put them in the backfoot.

Last time I was this excited about a series, was the Test series in England. Praying that that's where the similarities end.

If this thread needs to be alive for a week, BD will need to take the match till 5th or 4th day. I hope this thread remain alive (without post match analysis) for a week. Good luck.

Spitty,
Most of the EST zone area have added an hour. So Sadi is technically also correct.

The difference between EST and PST is always 3 hours. (When they add and subtract Daylight savings)

EST + 1hour = CST,
CST + 1hour = MST,
MST + 1hour = PST

EST = Eastern
CST = Central
MST = Mountain
PST = Pacific.

So please change the EST to 23:30pm. The rest should be fine.

I also hope Bashar invites them for batting. Bashar is going to win the toss anyway. Allah jeno ore shubuddhi den.

Otherwise BD batting will collapse in the moisture affected field.

This DST is kinda confusing. In UK we also have DST(right now 1 hour ahead of GMT).So I think EDT would be better.

Hi Spitfire_x86, could you add the date along side the ticking GMT clock (showing the CURRENT GMT) and have it 'ticking' also ?

The threads are opened more than 24 hours before the begining of the matches nowadays. So it is confusing to determine which days time the ticking clock is showing at any particular time someone view the thread.

Thanks.

Well Fox Sports 2 in Australia will start showing the match from 10:00 am Bangladesh time (2pm Aus), so that's probably when it starts because I don't think Fox Sports do any pre-match programs or anything.

seems its going to a slow track suitable for spinners..
warne ke shamlano possibly lee er cheye onek shoja silo.
what you guys think?

sar2005
April 8, 2006, 09:45 AM
If the pitch is slow, I hope BD will play spinners well as they will get more time to play a ball. But it would be difficult to time a shot against their pace attack, specially when we have stroke makers like Bashar, Ashraf and Aftab. They all are shot makers and may end up with hitting in the air :(

Against Mcgill and Warne, the footwork has to be spot on. I hope our players will keep their heads cool.

Rafique and Enamul has to show some real works. It is really humid in BD(about 90%). Also pitch is known to be a slow one. So, not ideal condition for fast bowlers of either side.

The first day will dictate how the rest of the series go for our guys. if we bat first, prerogative has to be occupation of crease. if we bat first and can finish the first day losing 7wickets or less, i would consider it an accomplishment. with our limited bowling resources all i am hoping is for a disciplined performance with everyone contributing. for this series, i am expecting big things from mashrafee and enam.

If our players can play according to their potential Warne, MacGill, Lee should not be a problem.

We are now playing in the top level of cricket and getting confident about our abilities. Most bowlers in international level are capable of doing havoc against any opposition in their day. Today we are facing Warne, tomorrow we will be facing Shane Bond, Ntini yesterday we met Murali.. this will go on. Now its our time to prove our potential and abilities.

I am dissapointed that Syed russel is not in the line up, he can be vital for the first 10 overs. He is the only genuine swing bowler right now in the squad. he can give little problem to Hayden and ponting. It is indeed a dragic mistake not to play him in this test as he is in fine form. He is been in fine form from the get go.:E:head::wow:

Shahriyar,

Nah, that wasnt what happened.

What happened is that he asked Ashraful for some phone numbers of local girls, and Ash lined up the meeting in the afore mentioned red light district.

Ash is a sneaky bugger, as much as he needs to stand on a box when being photographed with models.
