I want to make a GIF animation from a recorded video file. I need a series of uninterrupted screenshots from 5-10 seconds of video. I realised it's not easy. Can someone please guide me on this and also is there's any software to do this?

Use AnimationShopPro, download the trial version. You can load mpg, avi clips then trim frame by frame and make the animation gif. My avatar was made in AnimationShop.

I can't seem to find it anywhere.. Googled it, looked on torrent sites, Limewire.. no luck.
Can you please send it to me via MSN?

Thanx, I've installed the trial but it's kinda confusing.. can you please tell me step-by-step what I should do to convert the video into screenshots/animation?
It's basically the channel-i report video your posted. I want to make an avatar of Shahriar's reaction after he scored the century.. (the part where he runs and jumps high with joy)
Also the video is in asf, I tried to convert it to avi but the converter says the file is corrupt even though it plays fine.. how can I get around this?

Pretty simple, play around with it you will find out. Load the video in animation shop. Chop off the part that you dont need. Resize the video. Analyze the frames, remove every 3rd frame (will make smaller file), check the delay, export to gif and check in browser how it looks. Trial and error will get you there :)

well you can now convert the video to GIF directly by using this VidGIF tool (http://www.geovid.com/VidGIF/)
or make a video in images with Video to Image freeware (http://www.presentavid.com/Video_to_Image/)

you are welcome!
vidgif is a really nice and simple tool, there is everything you need.
but if you want to do this in a more complicated way - Video to Image is a freeware
