Cosgrove and Dorey in ODI squad
Cricinfo staff
April 18, 2006

Mark Cosgrove (http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/bdeshvaus/content/player/4818.html) and Brett Dorey (http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/bdeshvaus/content/player/5112.html) will replace Damien Martyn and Stuart Clark for the three-match one-day series in Bangladesh. Martyn played in the first Test but is returning home due to an elbow injury, while Clark is going back to Sydney to be with his wife for the birth of their child.

Cosgrove, a 21-year-old left-hand batsman for South Australia, hasn't yet played international cricket but has impressed in the first-class circuit, averaging 41 from 24 matches. Dorey, 28, played three matches in the VB Series last season, but managed only one wicket.

Australia have already made one other change to their squad, replacing Shane Watson with James Hopes (http://content-search.cricinfo.com/ci/content/player/5702.html). Watson hasn't yet recovered completely from a calf injury he picked up in the recent Pura Cup final.

IMO Gillespie should play in the ODI series, not Brett "Can't Bowl" Dorey.

Gillespie has proven he can bowl (and bat) against BD.

Cossie is a super talented player. Watch out, he could do some damage

Looks like we have a good chance to win a game once we bowl out Hyden, Hussey, Ponting and Gilcrist.

O know, Gillespie AILOOOOOO.........................!!!

Cosgrove sounds like a left handed butcher.

BTW, sar2005, Hayden and Gillespie are also going home after the Test series, along with Warne, McGill, and Jaques.

Hayden plays ODI too.. in fact he played when we beat Aussies last year.

I think it's good Damien left, he can be very dangerous in the last 15 overs. Cosgrove has no International experience but he averages pretty good in 1st class.. could he be the Aussie version of Shahriar? I hope not, at least not better.

Damn what the hell. So they pick Katich before Hayden. Hayden rarely gets out disasterously cheaply and also makes his runs very quickly. So why the hell is Katich picked above Hayden in a limited overs game?

Just heard on the news Clark was actually dropped, he wanted to play against BD, yet Cricket Australia said he wanted to return for the birth of their child.

and symonds.. our bangla juice will take care of that. BCB should take him near banani or potanga (where ever the game is )and let him buy all the cheap beers and let him drink as much as he wants before the game....
