REPLY,CARTE BLANCHE.I know you are viewing all these.

Dear Shafin, please calm down. Don't take it personally. Maybe CB have started the structured match thread and from now on it would be the style. I personally agree if CB provided an explanation while opening this thread it would be better. Anyway you are a very valuable member of BC and you should also act responsibly. We are all waiting for a big game and we don't want any sort of havoc within ourselves. Please calm down man.

Shafin,
It's just a Match Thread take it easy. Carte said that he'd make a standard match thread format after the move to VB, since the old XMB format type match thread wasn't compatable. This is the standard type that can be used for the rest of the series and Other Match Threads

But to be honest you Shafin, you butchered the original one you made just 1 line?. I think you wanted to make it so you can add that one to your sig. It's not a big deal don't take it personally. What CB did is not an insult so just turn the page on this one.

Dear friend Shafin, I see your point and personally I would agree with you that a PM would have been a better option to start a new one here. But don't take it personally. We all have noticed your thread and I think BC tried to make a new standard format for match thread which is it and looks good. Take it easy and let's prepare for a good match.

CB in ric, since we have quite a lot of comments on Shafin's match thread, would it be possible to merge his one with this? It would mean that we just don't have locket his thread as well. We would appreciate your thoughts on it.

Cheers!!

Source (http://www.smh.com.au/news/Sport/Clark-in-doubt-for-onedayer-after-fall/2006/04/23/1145730792550.html)

Australian batsman Michael Clarke is in doubt for the opening one-day match against Bangladesh after slipping and hitting his head entering the hotel pool. The 25-year-old fell during a post-training recovery session late Saturday at the Peninsula Hotel in Chittagong. He needed 13 stitches to the back of his head but was understood to be up and walking around following the incident. A decision on his availability for the match will be made on Sunday morning.

Meanwhile World Cup aspirants Dan Cullen and Mitchell Johnson have the chance to show off their wares in the first clash of the three-match series. Cullen will make his debut while left-arm pacemen Johnson has his third start after being touched up in New Zealand and South Africa in his previous outings. Australia has chosen a dual spin attack of Cullen and veteran Brad Hogg for the Chittagong Divisional Stadium where pace bowlers claimed only four of the 24 wickets to fall in the recently-completed Test.

Australian captain Ricky Ponting said the Tigers were a more formidable outfit over 50 overs with the home side having recorded a shock five-wicket win over Australia in Cardiff last June.

"They have come out and said they are a much better one-day side than they are Test side and that is the nature of the game, it brings sides closer together," he said. "They have a little bit more success in one-day cricket than Test cricket. They will be ready for it no doubt about that. They have had a couple of days to be away from it and freshen up."

Bash is very positive now-a-days that's a good sign. I heard Tush is in! Everyone would welcome Ash; if he can deliver (not spins). Mash is getting good results; I see good dedication and commitment in him. It's good to see Aussies are fighting very hard to win every game. 2nd test had all batting pitch? BUT BD surrendered to the technique. Rafique played wonderful. He will get player of the year award again. We want his service for many years.

sar2005
April 22, 2006, 05:20 PM
I just saw an article in the daily Ittefaq that the pitch will be little bit on slower side but flat. This is the pitch where SL scored 300+ in last tour and BD scored 231 chasing that huge total. Ball will come little late to the bat. Apart from little slowness, everything will support a batsman.

So, if we win the toss shold bat and try to score 250+. Then try to ball in good line and length to restrict free scoring shots. The most important thing would be not dropping a single chance. Mash will definitely need to hold those cathes.

I am not so happy about today's team. Seems like we are keeping winning team from last Kenya match. Ashrafool should have been kicked out of the team. If we think he is prospectus and he deserves to be in the team then, what will happen to those faces who are also promising and looking for an opportunity. Ashrafool is just a waste of space atm. He needs electric shock. I don’t see any valid reason but overwhelming speculation on Ash doing good today.
My equation is plain and simple... "If you are not doing good, you are out of team. Try your best in the league, do well and come back. Meanwhile, we keep trying new faces..."

Aussies got typical bowling side. Chashing their total may give us a chance to beat them once again. I am looking forward to win a ODI series against Aussies. :flag: Go Bangals!!!

Great field placements by Ponting. They've packed the off-side field to the right-handed batsman. Rajin creamed a few straight to cover - it frustrated the hell out of him, and eventually led to his wicket. Lets hope these two can learn from his mistakes.

Aftab should have just defend the ball. He just started playing too many shots. I don't have any complain against his six as he rightly played that delivery based on the merit. He just lost his head and that's what I was mentioning in my previous post.

I agree. Full credit to the bowler too. Aftab seemed to have premeditated a drive. But ball stopped short on him, and he played an awkward block, his bat blade facing the covers. He couldnt even check his shot. Ball just lobbed for a lollipop catch to covers. Aftab needs to concentrate more and stick longer. But he doesnt look like he takes his spot in team for granted. for god sake, what do u want us to do, slog and get out, this is not the way to go, this is the problem with our fans we want to attack all the time. we need to adapt to the situation and this situation is to knock the ball around till about 40 overs and then we can think about attacking

No mate!! No slog, play proper shot and take singles with occasional boundary. Whats happening now they are not picking singles and tries to hit boundary out of frustration.

I disagree. Tushar looked settled with Bashar. They were both taking singles more than playing idiotically. Tushar's dismissal was unfortunate. He didnt read the googly, plus it was a very high bouncing ball too.

And Bashar just hit a good boundary. That was intelligent shot.

Bashar's reading the ball well. He pulled that shot very nicely. It shows he is confident of his shots, and not wavering with any sort of unsurity. Also remember: he is in good batting form :)

The pitch is perfect for batting, maybe a bit slow in pace. We have given away the wickets. Apart from Aftab's one all are cheap wickets given as gift to the aussies.

We have bunch of players good for the 20s/30s! And once in a year some of them click to go for a good innings to do something memorable!! Thats all what we are.

There is no one who can make a solid difference. :(

Rafiq should have come before pilot as also mentioned by the commentators. Couple of lasty shots could break the shakkle.

34.1 Hogg to Bashar, no run, pitched outside off and turned a shade in, kept really low, Bashar drops his hand but not enough, lucky that the ball missed the off stump

This is the time for a 100 for Bashar
