at present rafiq comes in at number 8, often after the 40th over when the fast bowlers are returning for their second spell. rafique is without a doubt, the biggest hitter in our team, but he has a distinct preference for the slower bowlers. his technique(or lack of) gets exposed when the pacers are swinging the ball, short of a length. so at present, i feel, we are underutilitizing rafiques 6 hitting capabilites.
I believe that we should be flexible about rafique's position in the batting order. if we get a solid start with the spinners bowling and the power play on, then he could come in the top 4 to continue the momentum. otherwise rafique should come between 25 and 40 overs where the spinners usually bowl. a quick fire 25-30 from him would be quite invaluable for us. as for the next match, he should come at 6 ahead of kapali(or tushar) and mashud. any second opinions?
