Youth cricket resumes tomorrow

The National Youth Cricket Championship will begin tomorrow across the country after a two-year break The 23rd version of the competition called the Dhaka Bank Under-19 Cricket Tournament as the private commercial bank has a one-year contract with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to sponsor all under-19 cricket activities in the country. Its a good development. Howver I think they should make it Under-17 Cricket Tournament instead. So that new find from these tournament could be (age-wise) eligible for future national u-19 team, if selected. Now most likely we would find more 19 years olds who will not have enough time left to qualify for u-19 for next few years.

Is it the correct time to play cricket? This is summer time now in BD so how can we expect our young cricketers to play quality cricket? How they can cope and learn in this wet and hot condition? Don't know why BCB can't think professionaly, they could organize this event more earlier of the dry season.

hmm, it is better to play in the summer than in the rainy season when full match cant be played, but then again in summer we have boishakhi jhor,

"। এই কথা তারা ঠিক ই বলে। ভাল আবহাওয়া না হলে খেলোয়াড়রা ভাল খেলবে কেমনে? ঠিক তেমনি শীতকাল হল আমাদের দেশে ক্রিকেট খেলার সবচেয়ে ভাল সময়। কিন্তু এই কথা কি আর ক্রিকেট কতৃ‍পক্ষ বুঝবে?
