Since Eshen bhai is not asking any question, I would like to ask one:

Who was the 12th man of Bangladesh's inauguaral test squad against India in 2000?

Im really not too sure but was it Rajin Saleh? I think he took a catch as substitute fielder?

BD-Shardul

Yes, it was Khondokar Mohammad Rajin Saleh Alam.

Check Wiki profile of Saleh.

Rafiq. It was in today's Cricinfo. However, I think Ashraful Haque and co may have bowl more than 10 over in International Match in ICC Trophy in 1978 (as those were 60 over match)
My turn, who was the bowler when Don scored his century of centuries?

Rafiq. It was in today's Cricinfo. Correct, against Hong Kong in the 2004 Asia cup. He also picked up the last HK wicket in his 11th over. The umpires were reprimanded later. Scorecard for that match: http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/hongkong/engine/match/65706.html

no one will get these 2 questions right:

by my estimation anywhere from 2 million to 3 million test cricket runs have been scored to date.

who is the batsman who scored the 1 millionth run, and who is the batsman who scored the 1 millionth run off the bat?

MohammedC
October 11, 2008, 07:35 PM
Sorry Asad bhai had to cheat

Its either Dean Jones or Allan Border or extras

The millionth run in Test cricket was scored by one of Dean Jones, Allan Border or extras. It occurred ten runs from the end of their unbroken third-wicket partnership of 146 in Australia's second innings in the Third Test against India at the Wankhede Stadium in Bombay on 19 October 1986 when the score reached 206.

Ok this is not a trivial type question for which I have the answer of but more an enquiry as I am quite confused with a couple of things with regard to the game itself.

Firstly, what defecit does one team have to overcome to avoid a follow on in a test match? Isnt it 200 or something?
This question has arisen from looking at the scorecard of the 1st test match from Bangladesh's tour of New Zealand back in 2001. Here is the link for it:

http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/bdeshvnz/engine/match/63967.html

Basically it shows New zealand scoring 365 in 1st innings n then Bangladesh scoring 205 yet their still following on but only 160 behind?

Maybe a silly question on my behalf due to a gap in my knowledge but just enquiring as got really confused and somehow doesnt seem right!

Yes. Law 13.3 "If no play takes place on the first day of a match of more than one day's duration, 1 above shall apply in accordance with the number of days remaining from the actual start of the match." That is, if there is no play on the first two days of a 5 day match, the follow on rule applied is that of a three day match.

Here is the answer to my question:

[বাংলা]A. Mohammad Ashraful - 3.

B. Mashrafe bin Mortaza - 1.
Attitude Problem.

C. Shakib Al Hasan - 6.

D. Mushfiqur Rahim - 4.

E. Rubel Hossain - 2.

F. Shahadat Hossain - 5.

There was Sanjeeb Sharma and Rashed Hanif, these two players played for years in DPL and also for several teams as well. Rashed Hanif may have played 2/3 year back as well.

In 90's, DPL was a big market for PAK players. It was such a market that Pak domestic players themselves used to come to Bangladesh during the start of the season to look-out for teams.

http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/5435/akc94.jpg (http://img651.imageshack.us/i/akc94.jpg/)

this was one of the best abahani team.
they have lipu (captain)/ nannu/ faruq/ akram/ sujon/ saiful islam/ nasu / fairbrother/ r.illingworth! they beat MSC in the final match of the season. fairbrother scored good runs in the final.

Seeing as Nocturnal bumped this thread up. I might as well ask the question here. How do you copy cricinfo stats on here?

I just copy paste Suresh Raina's stat as a test - link (http://www.cricinfo.com/india-v-australia-2010/content/current/player/33335.html)
copy paste works ok I guess

In first class cricket outside England, it is a rare feat to score eight hundreds in a season. Bradman did it once in the late 1920s. It was equalled seven more times, by big players like Denis Compton, Neil Harvey, Martin Crowe and VVS Laxman.

Bradman's record stood for eighty years before someone broke it by scoring nine hundreds in a season a couple of years ago.

We all know about Don Bradman's inhuman 99.94 average in tests. How many others (who played at least 20 matches) have an average over 60 in tests?

Sorry, forgot about this. The very surprising answer to this question is Vusimuzi Sibanda who scored 9 100s in the 2009-10 Zimbabwe fc season.

http://www.cricketarchive.com/Archive/Players/44/44597/f_Batting_by_Season.html

Three of Yousuf's hundreds were in England and the rest were also split between 2005-6 and 2006-7 seasons
