IF Balak play, there is no doubt about Germany's win. Only problem is for Germany: this is the opening match---in the past a lot of upset happened.

Looks like the entire deportivo Saprissa is playing for Costa Rica. 8 of them. The next team with higest players for Costa Rica is Deportivo Alajuelense with 5. This only means these players have played side by side for a longer period of time than the Germans. Good luck to the Costa Ricans. Althought my prediction would be 2-0 in favor of Germany.

I predict an upset. Watch out. Is it on the web? I would like to buy a package to watch it at work.

Germany (as much as I hate them) should win this comfortably, especially with the home support.

IMO football WCs are always great, but I hope this one doesn't turn out to be like France '98. Brazil has a poor record in European WCs and they're my favourite + Germany being the last runners-up now playing at home has a huge advantage like France did.

June 9, 2006, 11:25 AM
Germany don't think much of this Costa Rican keeper, do they? They seem to be trying a lot of long range shots.

June 9, 2006, 11:28 AM
SCHNEIDER Bernd from Germany is the best player so far.

A yellow card foul by Frings, but overlooked by Refree, just a free-kick which is wasted.

Costarica Strikes. Wanchope again.

3-2 now. German defence is not good enough to win WC.

What an exciting game this has been so far. Germany's defense is very poor, I wonder how they'll cope against the better teams. I just hope Costa Rica can expose Germany once more at the last minute!

It's all over, German offence was too strong for Costa Rica. This is surely the best WC opening match I've seen.

Frings Strikes.

I have to admit this is the best possible start of the World Cup

lunch breake prothom ordher khela dekhar shoubhaggo howechilo...i'd have loved to see the germans lose - that'd have made things easier for england...hehe...but a great opener nevertheless. the germans didn't play their usual robotic crap at all, and also, it looks like the teamgeist is making its mark. :)
