1 1 W 2 . | 4 . 1 2 . 1wd . | 4 1wd W W 1 1 4 | W 1

Thats the last three over from England but Already Srilanka scored 306 runs and still 1.4 overs left. I think they have scored enough to win the match.

Finally Srilanka Scored 319/8, England has to do something extraordinary to win the match.

It will take years to break Taposh's World record (Most expensive spell 7, 7+ overs). He was belted for 86 in 7 overs. But the introduction of 20-20 can be a factor.

Anyways, I have a question. What happened below?

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=5 width=605 bgColor=#eeeeee border=0><TBODY><TR vAlign=top><TD align=right width=30>49.2</TD><TD>Mahmood to Malinga, 2 wides, horrid wide, but well stopped by Jones

How can one ball can be counted as two wides? did the batsmen switch places? In that case wouldn't be a bye run? Aparently the next one was also a wide. :)

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

mahmoods figure was 5-0-60-0. if he continued he would have broken mick lewis's world record. and on that day if our captain let taposh to carry on he could have given more 40-50 runs in his last 3 overs

I think the key is "Horrid". It was so wide that the umpire gave two wides in one ball.

When the batsman switch places on a wide, it also counts as a wide... thats how you get five wides when a keeper can't stop a wide ball and it crosses the boundary line...

England is down to 0-2 in this ODI series. The game is over folks.

Pietersen is out with asking RR 7.93 (need to score 144 runs in 18 overs).

Hiyya!

Another dismal performance by England...

When are they going to take ODI cricket seriously? The bowlers bowl 2 sides of the wicket, the batters get paralised if they have to chase a run rate of 6.00 run per over and this happens every single match.

Duncan Fletcher must take some blame for this...they lack tactics, thought and a sound plan to win one day matches!

My first post so hello, btw. :)

Welcome debra :)

England lacks quality players right at the moment. I am sure they are taking ODI seriously but always pretends that they are not serious in ODI. Whenever they will do good in ODI they'll say @Now we are serious in ODI'

I am taking this answer. Sadi, this forum is not for you, too intelligent.

Now elaborating "Fazal's theory" (wow - Fazal's law has a better ring to it).
On pitch there are two white lines on both sides of the batsman. When a bowler fails to bowl within the innerlines in becomes a Wide. When the bowler fails to keep the ball within the outerlines, then the ball becomes Horrid Wide.

Hiyya!

Another woeful performance by England, I thought a total of 261 was competetive, until the Sri Lankans got stuck into our schoolboy bowling attack.

When will they learn not to bowl 2 sides of the wicket! very frustrating! :(

Another loss to England. They have lost 14 of their last 18 ODI. I guess Bangladesh holds a better record for their last 18 ODI regardless of opposition.

England will pretend not to be serious in ODI but the truth is they have tried every option in both batting and bowling. Srilanka seems to be too good for them even without Muralitharan.

Well done Sri lanka for the whitewash. But ,will this effect the English side who don't care about ODI matches at all, they want us to believe that they are interested only in Test matches.Anyway hope England will accept that they have become a very bad ODI side. All credit to Sri Lanka;to beat the home side convincingly in their own den is a wonderful feat.
