Srilanka has regained the highest team total in an ODI.

They smashed Netherlands and scored 443.

WOW!! Days are coming when we will see first 500+ score in ODI.

Netherland is hammering Srilanka right at the moment

Netherlands 72/2 (8.2 ov)

The way Joya was batting against England, they would have smashed it that day,if they had the opportunity to bat first for 50 overs
they were 140 after 11 overs.

I was impressed with Netherlands batting. A very good start, but slowed down a bit. Having said that, they finished with nearly 250, a very good score considering they aren't a full member, and against a good opposition.

A record that will stay as under-rated... no commentary, no videos, no pics!

jayasuriya also broke the record of most 4's in an innings. sad thing is we will never be able to see this record breaking innings

Shame..... I think South Africa deserved to keep the record as they scored it against mighty Aussies..... a run feast against an associate member can't have the same value...

its not that any test playing country played against associate member. Sri Lanka took the opportunity and scored big. May be nederlands bowling attack was very poor but we saw what sri lanka did against england other day. they way jayasuriya and tharanga was batting sri lanka could have score 450 easily. and to me, record is record, no matter who the opposition was. and scoring 400+ is not easy

How old is Jayasuriya, 36 or 37,still playing like a youngster ?
Well with media coverage and all AUS vs SAF match was different and standard was very different from this one between SL vs NED.Still a record is a record. So, SriLanka wrests back the Record of highest ODI score from the top 2 teams.Very soon 500 will be reached,it's possible.Imagine Aus playing Canada/Bermuda.

Whoa.. nice job SL.. but I'll still consider SA's 438 as a true highest ODI score against "mighty" Aussies.. at least for the fact they were chasing!

There is no shame in it. DOnt go with the whim and undermine the great achievement. Only a few days back, SL was doing exactly the same thing, if not even more devastating, with the 'mightly' England bowlers.

Are these matches held on a barren batting track? Or is it on Mat? Over 1200 runs in two matches?

It seems like N'lands are not scoring too bad either for an associate team. I wonder if the grounds are any bigger than my lawn.. hehe

At last a picture to testify that the event actually happened!

Legendary Jayasuriya batting to make 157 as "orange" wicketkeeper Jeroen Smits (aged 34) is watching (maybe!).
