You're welcome.

1.I had not been known to suffer from OBC.

2.I've posted three threads in Bangladesh Cricket.Give link to the five if you can,and posting ten threads in an hour does not indicate OBC,you should post as many threads as you wish which fulfill the posting Criteria

3.However,I suffer from EMTPS (Early match thread posting syndrome), along with spitfire.

THE Zimbabwe Cricket select side that is in South Africa is expected to jet into the country today after a 10-day tour.

Captain Terrence Duffin, Edward Rainsford and Anthony Ireland, who have been playing club cricket in England, are also expected to join the team today.

The side in South Africa was captained by off-spinner Prosper Utseya and contains four players seeking their first caps – left-hand batsman Friday Kasteni, opening batsman Tinotenda Mawoyo, wicket-keeper Tafadzwa Mufambisi and pace bowler Admire Manyumwa.

Top order batsman Hamilton Masakadza and Utseya were instrumental in Zimbabwe’s victory against the South African Academy at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria where Masakadza hit 118.

Lets hope Ireland is back on point in terms of speed and accuracy...

oh .. the moment of truth has finally arrived...

after batting for 512 days with long hard patience and passion, i have today finally become a TEST CRICKETER here on BANGLA CRICKET.

thank you thank you guy... u r all welcome:D

since i became a member on this great forum on the 1st of March 2005, BC has become an integral part of my life. its like an oxygen if im not over stating. i felt like finding my home when i stumbled on this website back in february last yr. what a great place to share ur passion, love, hate, anger, rage and all the other emotions(except a few ;) ) not only about Bangladesh cricket but about almost anything.

One of the biggest highlight i wud have to say was during the World Cup. it was great to chat, debate, fight, tease each other which we hardly get to do when we all are member of a common cause.

i have to admit, last couple of days i was totally gripped with the obsession of becoming a test cricketer. i hv sprinted thru post no 900 to 1000 in just 3 days.
i wish my participation was more frequent, but as u all know, the time and circumstance doesnt permit us.

Thank you to all you members for supporting and encouraging me to post here.
Thank you to the mods and admins as well.. u do a great job.:bravo:

I know this is a personal note, completely off the topic, but i felt like sharing with u all. Dont worry, im not running anywhere.. i will keep on posting here as much as i can, when i can.

Cheers All!!:great:

Zimb team arrived from SA after finishing their practice matches. There strength is not bad at all, also played well. Their batting was very productive and also managed a good fight back with SA academy team.

I don't see any reason for BD should not be serious about it. There will be nail bitting contest.

Bangladeshi papers said the wicket will be hard, bouncy, and without grass- very much batting wicket. I don't see any point of sending Gullu to open. Why don't the management try Rafique or Mashrafe as a pinch hitter in this match ?

Sibanda
Chibhabha
Rinke

Higgins
Rainsford

Unless Masakadza does not play in this match, I don't see a spot for Duffin.

it may sound stupid but how about sending ash to open, if he clicks we will have a good total & if he fails, we have golla to stop collaps

The thing is that the quality of the Zim spinners (Utseya, Higgins) are better than their pacers. Those guys are effective in choking the run rate and thus creating pressure on the opposition. Since Ash is our best player against spin, I think we should save him for those guys.

On the otherhand, Mortaza and Aftab are good enough to destroy mediocre Zim pacers on this kind of flat pitch, and I don't see any reason why they should not be sent earlier.

Tokyobreeze
July 28, 2006, 09:43 PM
If we get a blasting start, we can consider sending Mashrafi at the upper order to keep the tempo going...he has got really good shots at hand and I think we should utilize him better in terms of pinch-hitting...

Its been a long time I wrote anything but do read the threads everyday. Anyway, I think BD shud be professional and do their role like batsmen making run and bowlers taking wks. This is the 1st match and we MUST win it. They shud not worry abt blusting ZIM away or something.

GO BD :)

It is not about being professional or unprofessional. If it is truly a tokta wicket, bowlers of both sides will struggle, more or less. Mind you Zim has few good hitters in Rinke, Masakadza, and Chigumbura. So, it is a matter of strategy that we milk their pacers as much as possible and post a safe total of 270-280 (in the scenario where Bashar wins the toss and elect to bat first, which he does with amazaing frequency).

BD Tigers
July 28, 2006, 11:00 PM
@TheWatcher, to make 270/280 runs doesn't mean u have to send Mash or Rafique in the top. If BD can keep wks (like 7/8) around 40 overs and score 160 runs @4.00 rr, they can still make another 100 runs in the 10 overs. All I am saying that winning first game is a MUST and BD shud play a bit cautiously - that's all.

The pitch for the match at the Harare Sports Club has its fair share of embedded grass and there should be enough encouragement for the pacers. Mashrafee Bin Mortaza quickly adjusted to the demands of Zimbabwean wickets .......in the practice game against the Zimbabwe Board XI but his new ball partner Shahadat Hossain Rajib made the mistake ............Shahadat was guilty of pitching the ball too short in the practice game but would get another chance to redeem himself when the first ODI gets underway.
Seems he has lot to adjust for...........

I had a lot of trouble logging in to banglacricket all this while so cudnt post the scores at regular intervals. NOw that the batting is over and i am finally in bangla cricket, this display just shows that we are not way better than the Zim team. This goes to show that we still have a long long long way to go. Now I am fearful about the 2007 worldcup and dont think we can expect much from this team. This series wont be the walk in the park most thought. However I think our bowlers are much better than our batters and hence we will win this match. But once again a pathetic batting display by the Bangladeshi batsmen except for Shahriar nafees. Even then I think he should have carried on to score a hundred against an opposition like Zim. very disappointed with the overall batting.

48.1 Rainsford to Rafique, no run, Rafique turns it to square leg, Mashud wanted a single, Rafique denies, could have been a single

Why was that? Is it beacuse Pilot's own team mate has no confidence in Pilot in slogging overs? Shouldn't Mashrafee or Razzak should be there instead of Pilot as he came in slogging overs not middel of the innings?

Sovik
July 29, 2006, 06:31 AM
Shahriar nafees has been the most consistent. he is the only batsman who knows his limitation of shots and plays accordingly. he was slow but after 2 quick wickets he had to stay in the crease and he did that

Fazal
July 29, 2006, 06:37 AM
Yes Shahriar nafees was consistent and performed well but he was not perfect. In one day matches, when you are set, you are supposed to take the leading role to take care of the RR. Its not test. When you are set, you shouldn't have problem scoring one and twos to make sure RR is around 5 against team like Zim. Just look how he got out. He Flirted around SR 60 something... and suddenly desided to slog a ball and get bowled out. Need to to learn, when he is set he can easily get close to SR 100 without scoring a single six.

PoorFan

Besides, Mashud's strike rate was not bad (14 runs from 15 ball, 93.33). Rafique was there for slog, so Mashud was justifiable choise I think, cause losing freequent wk in slog overs also slow down the run rate.
