View Full Version : Groupings, Conflict, Infighting may start in the absence of Bashar

I fear that in the absence of Bashar, groupings, conflict, infighting may start in the Bangladesh national team to get the position of the captain and afterwards. This is true in every case for Bangladesh - just look at our history.

First of all, we're still not professional enough to just perform our duties as our players know their duties & responsibilities pretty well. The last time when it happened, we hit rock bottom - just look at our records against New Zealand AT HOME. Except for individual brilliance of Aftab Ahmed's 5 wicket hawl, we had nothing to speak about when Bashar was injured the last time in his fingers/thumb.

In the short run, we could lose the Zimbabwe and the Kenya series because of Bashar's absence, and in the long run, some of the young players may get caught up in this and try to be the hero or something, which could eventually lead to Bangladesh's and the individual young players' downfall.

Ha ha ha

IS mr shumon the class teacher of the 3rd grade class? r u joking me? the example you mentioned here may i point out that even with him in the team we could have made the same mark cause we were facing a better test team????

Hai Hai ... akhon ki hobe?

With Bashar injured and Pilot taking the captaincy the chance of sunami hiiting Khulna just increased by double.

how does it help to get captaincy? do the selectors choose the captain or the players themselves decide?

I'm not so sure about that. i think they are mature enough, and there is no one else to deserve the captaincy at this moment. Rafique won't want this job as he can't speak english. so, there is no one else beside pilot to captain the team.

Oh Pleeeeze!! Your energy will be better spent pondering pre-election politics of Bangladesh. You sound like one of those sports "journalists" that create til from taal.

what paranoia...bashar is our most consistant player no doubt, but i am tired of BC members making him out to be some kind of a super god.

continuing this line of paranoid-OCD thinking how about this scenario:

bashar misses the rest of the africa series -> we lose the remaining 6 games in landslides -> the players revolt against BCB and one another -> bangladesh cricket plummets to depths that zimbabwe cannot imagine -> fans riot in dhaka, ctg, et al due to lose of test and ODI status -> bangladesh govt tries to intervene -> some random group of muslim fundoos declares the govt 'infidel' for getting involved in haraam things like cricket -> bangladesh decends into a civil war -> pakistani ISI agents aid the fundoos -> fundoos attack kolkata -> india declares war on both bangladesh and pakistan -> pakistan is overpowered within a week and launches nukes at india and finland -> the next day the world ends, no life on earth exists except for singled celled bacteria which somehow survive the high radiation

CRICKET EXISTS NO MORE!!!

i think there was some problems among players during 2003 world cup. but after that besides the rafique incident there were no other problems among players. i dont think bashars injury will lead to us losing the series. because bangladesh is way better team then zimbabwe and kenya. so i dont think bashars injury will make that much of an impact in the field. and bashar will remain with the team to motivate the team.

sorry to say this, but I had a great deal of respect for the 2nd member of BC. a lot of it was gone during the kenya series for those predictions. and if these kind of predictions keep coming, the remaining will be gone soon.

fw, what has happened to you? we have not seen an article from you for years. its like a different person talking.

too many hindi serials on star plus, zee and sony - I don't watch hindi anything. With Cricket matches all the year around, don't have time for hindi.

About my writing - I still hope to start writing someday in the future, right now I'm trying to adjust my life with cricket to my first-job - life after MBA.

Back to the topic - after the 3rd ODI - do any of your opinions change? When we were supposed to win the series 5-0, at worst, 4-1, now we're 2-1 down. Also, we were supposed to score in the range of 300s, and so far, we have not been able to see an above 250 score until today.

I don't know about you, but life-after-Bashar will be a really tough one for me. I don't know if we can hold on to the upward curve much longer after Bashar gone, not unless our specialist batsman (our younger specialist batsman) start to act like experienced batsman.

Explain please how did we lose the first match under Bashar's captaincy?

And you still haven't answered my first question. Post #2 I believe.

No I don't think my opinion changes, but now I realize that I agree with lot of the stuff you are saying...

for example

-- how I feel about those nonsense pre-series white-wash claim
-- failure to even cross 250 score so far
-- life-after-Bashar will be a really tough
-- concern about the performance of our younger specialist batsman
-- One more loss, and then there is a possibility of internal blaming game, who will be the scape goat?
-- etc
-- etc

I don't know why people were offended by your initial comment. I may not beleive the rational, but the scenario now looks like more realistic than ever.

This has nothing to do with internal fighting the lost that is. We lost because we couldn't bat and field (today also some body in shadats over dropped a catch and made it a 4 and i think in that over he gave 15).
Also zimbo's r playing very good looks like they r more hungry then us...
