Pollock bowling offspin??

Just read on cricinfo the following:

Manjrekar and Srinath expressed concern over Shaun Pollock's loss of form and pace. Srinath opined that "his body has taken enough beating", while Manjrekar was especially "saddened" at the sight of Pollock bowling offspin in the recently concluded Test series against Sri Lanka.

Did this really happen? I would like to know what do you guys think of it. May be Medium pace but offspin? I don't get it. They don't have any offspinners better than shaun pollock?

may be he bowled too many off cutters

I think he only bowled one offspin ball to end the over, because he was hit for a few sixes from his pace bowling?

I'm not sure, but when I read the Cricinfo article I got that impression,

he's lost form..thats what happened and he was trying his luck with some offspin..thats what i heard

he lost some pace thats why he is not effective in test. but he is very economical and still one of the best in ODIs
