India will invest $4 million in Malaysia and they will hold 3 nation tournament (Aussie, IND, WI) in KLMpur! Each team will $ 1 million for playing. BD is again not invited as they don't have brand players.

Looks like Indian board is pretty active in business development along with cricket. What are our forum members thoughts on this? How can we market cricket; develop brand players and have a good investing ground just like the football or basketball here?

mate Indian Cricket Board got hundreds of millions of dollars to play with.
if they want to just hand out coupla millions here and there, they can do that.

to develop brand players and market cricket, we first hv to make a name for ourselves. simple. start winning matches on a regular basis, be a team to reckon with. once we can do that, the rest will follow. fame, brand, money everything u name it.

but till then, we will hv to restrain ourselves with only reading reports about what India and Australia is doing.

I got the impression that one of the main reasons for this series was preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy. Of course, money will also be a factor, but Bangladesh have come off tours to Zimbabwe and Kenya, Australia haven't played international cricket since the tour to Bangladesh!!

Make the local divisional offices more powerful.
Allow them to have a 1st class team, equipments, grounds, officials, local tournaments leagues at least 3 day matches.
Improve base salary for the players (not only the national players).
