Much ado about nothing
Sports Reporter

The much talked about meeting between the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the national cricketers yesterday to find the truth about the recently concluded Zimbabwe-Kenya tour simply turned into a get together.

Although the BCB high-ups had told that they decided to meet the whole team after quizzing coach Dav Whatmore and manager Shafiqul Haque Hira to get a picture of the on and off the field events during the African trip, it turned out to be just a damp squib.

"We have had a nice lunch with the BCB high officials and there was no serious discussion. Although there was hype about the meeting, we found nothing like that. They just wanted to know why we failed in Zimbabwe and whether we need a specialist batting coach," said a cricketer on condition of anonymity.

"Nobody even asked about the controversy around the coach. It was a chance for the players to open up to the board as there were no members of the coaching staff," said another surprised player.

When contacted, BCB president Ali Asghar talked in the same line and said that they did not want to prolong the issue rather they are looking to the future challenges like the ICC Champions Trophy and the next World Cup.
"During the lunch we talked about some issues about the recently concluded series but there was nothing serious," said the BCB boss.

Media people have their own agenda as always. 99% of the time that works against the teams interest. If I were the coach, I would make sure media don't come near me nor to my players till the world cup.

Let the man do his job peacfully.

According to Prothom Alo, Mashree explained his part what happened in the last over in the match against Zims that conceded 18 runs.
.....After the 1st six in the 1st ball, he broke his heart and then tried to bowl yorkers ending in full toss! ..................And so he decided to take care of his broken heart by marrying his childhood sweet heart!! :)

At the end it was a good thought from BCB part not to make things worst as Champions Trophy is knocking at the door as well as the World Cup too.
In a team, one or two players might have some prob with the coach in cricket or in any other sports. Sometimes we have to overlook it for the best interest of our team.

Looks like this meeting was more about officializing the performence review committee (MP Shaheen and gang) than about probing what went wrong in Zimbabwe.

I am ok with this review committee stuff as long they don't interfare too much with the team selection process.
