Don't know if this is the proper way to open a match thread. but this match is important for us too. We have to beat both of these teams to qualify to the next round.

Thanks for opening the thread. I did open some match opening threads in past. Very simple...just share my feelings. I don't know the rules. But nobody expressed any objection. I think Match Opening Thread can be like the other threads.

Is there any rule?

Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to, yes, bat.
Good luck!

Zimbabwe in a disarray. Zimbo's seems to be Lion only against Bangladesh and mouse aganist other opponents.

WI will definitely get bonus point here... BD will have also have to beat Zimbo big also.

This might be good for us, becasue WI is not gonna get good match practice out of this. Also, it might make them a bit complacent against us.

Its all over.. Zimbabwe bundled out for 85 in 28 overs.. I knew their lowest score was 40 something against Srilankans. Is it their 2nd lowest score ever? Its not a good sign for us and WI definitely looking suparb in every department and we are quite similar to Zimbabwe in strength!!

Anyway, its upto WI now and probably they would love to wrap this up inside 10 overs..

Its all over. WI took 14.2 over to win the match by nine wickets. Two successive sixes from WI sealed the win.

Poor show by Zimbo's. Hope they will do better against SL in their next match.

I hope Zimbo gets similar treatment from Srilanka, too.

Wish we could also beat them this way :(

oh for sure! i totally agree with you...Pathetic is the best word to discribe Zim's performance..i mean you guys lost to SL but not without a fight..but this-->[85 all out] is absolute rubbish. I feel sorry for the lads cuz their next assignment is not going to be any easier. ;)

Have Mercy! Zim is in foriegn land, totally in a different subcontinent. They are young and lack confidence. Let me remind you we didn't do that much better before this outing. 77 allout, 93 allout, 123 allout, 131 allout in ICC CTs. But within two years things have changed and we are improving in leaps and bound. There will be ups and downs. But they will compete. Without our two biggest stars (Bashar and Ash) contributing we posted 267. If they had done their share we would have challenged that 302 total. Zimbabweans will rise again and I have no doubt about it. It may take a while but they will. So have patience.

yeah, today they are going to play better than what they did against W.I even though SL promised to crush us...in the first game it was just poor batting that lost us the match so dismally.

there is a tone of arrogance or am I wrong .I don't think there is much difference between BD and Zimbabwe, but BD has a slight edge playing in the sub-continent.
