ad forum seen only after log in. That's pretty dumb (or for a really good reason). L-) Guests always outnumber members
I really wanna see how this turns out... I live for these stuff.
Best Wishes.

Some ideas:
Give a discount for the first 3 months. may be $10 bucks.
Give a month free. Do a trial run. See if you get sponsors or not.
I think the price is high. One must lure in the sponsors first. Once you have a base you can always raise the price then. For $15 bucks a months one would want their ads to be visible to general browsers. If one can only see the ads by having to get in to the ad forum then it is too much hassle for the viewers. Hense you may not get positive response from the ad campaigners.
By the way, I don't have any thing to advertise.

then stop negotiating.. LOL
I think classified was opened mainly to capitalize on streaming service. I think the asking price is way too low. I would have done per subscription basis fee but I dont think BC can do that because of legal issues. Read the rules.. very interesting. It's against everything illegal (even on imported stuff as if we don't have enough laws preventing that) but streaming :p
I enjoy seeing how website try to extract revenues. It gives you lessons without you investing time in it :) i think BC has some very intelligent ppl running it, they know what they are doing.. atleast I hope.. LOL
on a sep note: Did you watch the video "will it blend" featured video on youtube? I would love to know if it was chosen because it was popular or it was chosen because the company paid ad space. That's a brilliant ad campaign.

Thank you Orphy. I didn't think of streaming lines. You can now have your original place in James simulation lineup. I thought about products, from websites etc. In that case, I must say $15 is low.

Tiger-ji...
Note that this is a forum based classified ad vehicle and as such there is not too much eyeball trapping events going on. Of course, you will see the most recent ad in the "new post" section but other than that an end user has to make a concerted effort to visit the forum. That is why we have the price point we have. Yes, we do wish to monetize as much as possible (whp doesn't) but at the same time the service offered must be seemed to provide an equitabl value to the purchaser.
Now BC also provides a more "inistent" ad-service where customers can purchase site/section-wide banner ads. Now these ads are more visible and as such are priced higher.

Well Done!!
I remember we discussed this ad forum issue in January 2006.
It is good to see scratch ideas turning into reality.

My most humble apologies. Babubangla's post was what actually got the wheels churning behind the curtain and ergo ... we have this classified ad forum. I should have properly acknowledged this iead bulb contribution and my only excuse is this little thing that happened to me about 6 months ago and took me out of commission for 4.
Thanks once again babubangla.

I would have posted an ad to sell my ps3 console that I will hopefully be getting but seeing gaming poll (almost everyone chose "none") and how broke-a$$ bengalis are, I will opt to invest my $15 wisely.
But hey, this ad forum thing is motivating orpheus the entrepreneur. So members get ready to fill your kitchen cabinets with Ophy-coffee.
Ophy-Coffee: For late night cricket lovers.
But seriously what can we sell. Let's Brainstorm:
Seller - what they can sell (advertise text)
Zunaid - His last piece of hair (ad: Own the hair that covered a beautiful mind for half century)
Billah - A piece of India (ad: While my visit to Taj Mahal, I collected some rocks locals were throwing at me because I am a superior Bangladeshi. Now I sell you their land to beat them at their own game...suckas)
Hatebreed - Time (ad-if you don't have time, I will sell you some of mine)
Orpheus - wife (Please take her away for free, Bonus: Two ugly children)
if anyone wants ideas for them, write me back....
k i had enough fun for today.. good night.

Thank YOU, Doctor.
All I wanted is to get info on cheap broadcast deals.
This was you who cooked up the idea of ad forum out of that discussion.
But when others started discussing legal aspects of it, I thought it's not going to happen ever. Even after the going through the "little thing", you still kept it in your plans-- that's the great thing about it.
Thank you and others in BC who shaped this up.
OK...what are we selling? Any HOT deals out there??
